Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Antonio’s Luxury Suites honestly surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked away on Masarykov put in Lapad – which, if you know the area, means you’re about a 15-minute walk from that gorgeous pebble beach at Lapad Bay but far enough from the tourist chaos that hits the Old Town every morning. The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on, you know? Not flashy or trying too hard, just solid and well-maintained. When I walked into my suite, the first thing that hit me was how quiet it was – no street noise, no slamming doors from other rooms. The space actually felt like a proper apartment, with a separate living area where you could spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase.

What really got me was the attention to detail. The bathroom had this rainfall shower that – I mean, after a long day walking those medieval streets – felt absolutely perfect. The kitchenette was small but functional, which came in handy since there’s a little market just down the street where you can grab fresh bread and local cheese. The staff, well, they’re not overly chatty but they know their stuff. The guy at reception gave me this insider tip about catching the bus to the Old Town from the stop near the Grand Hotel – saves you about 200 kuna compared to taxis, and honestly, the ride along the coast is half the fun. The WiFi actually worked everywhere in the suite (shocking, I know), and they had this little balcony where I’d sit with coffee in the mornings, watching locals head to work while the cruise ship crowds were still sleeping.

Here’s the thing about Lapad that most people don’t realize – it’s where a lot of locals actually hang out. There’s this fantastic little restaurant called Dubrovnik just a few blocks away that serves the best black risotto I’ve had in Croatia, and you won’t find it in any guidebook. Antonio’s sits right in the sweet spot where you can walk to proper neighborhood places but still get to Pile Gate in 20 minutes on the 6 bus. The beach situation is solid too – Lapad Bay has actual sand mixed with those pebbles, and there’s usually space to spread out even in July. I stayed there during shoulder season in May, and honestly, it felt like having a little apartment in a residential neighborhood rather than being stuck in some tourist bubble. The 8.6 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works, it’s comfortable, and the location gives you that local feel while keeping you connected to all the stuff you came to see. Just pack some comfortable walking shoes, because you’ll want to explore this neighborhood properly.

  The location was amazing! Easy to get to old town, everything you need close by like restaurants, grocery stores etc.
  
  What could be improved: You have to get used to the ceiling height but it’s made clear in the other reviews and the pictures. So once you get the hang of it, it didn’t bother me anymore.

  Excellent apartment location and amenities. Supermarket just downstairs. The instructions from the owners were precise and we had good clarity even though we were checking in quite late. The apartment was clean and had all the basic amenities. I would definitely come back.
  
  What could be improved: Only minor hiccups which were not a deal breakers for us. We had a slight issue with the AirCon which the owner was able to guide us on. WiFi was slightly slow but could make do.

  Fantastic location only meters from lapad beach, which was perfect without pool. all facilities on ground floor of building eg supermarket, bakery etc. Bus no.4 to old city just at side of building leaving every 20 mins.

  What could be improved: Couldn’t stand up in the shower because of the angled ceilings. Could get into the building from the garage without going outside, but no access to the car from inside the building. Key (or fob?) missing. So would have to go outside and click our way into the garage then walk under the building through the garage lot to the car.

  The apartment was very clean and cosy, and there was a well-equipped kitchen. Also, the location next to the Lapad beach and route 4 (goes to the old town/centre) bus stop was perfect!
  
  What could be improved: The only minus was, that our aparment had a strongly slanted roof: therefore we managed to bump our heads multiple times. The ceiling might be tricky for taller people 🙂
