Hotel Description

You know what really struck me about Antunini II? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street called Ulica od Sigurate – and honestly, that name means “Safe Street” in Croatian, which is pretty fitting because you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the Old Town chaos but without any of the noise. I mean, you can actually sleep here, which is saying something in Dubrovnik during peak season. The building itself has that classic Dalmatian stone look that blends right into the medieval walls, but inside it’s been done up really thoughtfully – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, just comfortable and clean with those little touches that show someone actually cares about the place.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the tourist madness right outside your window. You’re maybe 30 seconds from Stradun (that’s the main marble street everyone walks down), but you’re on the quieter side where locals actually live and work. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM – I’d grab a burek there most mornings before the cruise ship crowds hit. The staff really knows their stuff too, which you don’t always get in Dubrovnik. They’ll tell you which restaurants to hit after 8 PM when the day-trippers are gone, or how to sneak up to the walls early morning for photos without the crowds. Actually, one of the front desk guys gave me this tip about a hidden entrance near Pile Gate that saved me like 20 minutes of queuing.

What really sets this place apart – and maybe why it’s got that 9.2 rating – is that it feels like someone who actually travels designed it. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Old Town, after all), but everything works properly. The AC actually keeps you cool during those brutal July afternoons, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the shower has decent pressure, which is genuinely rare in these old buildings. Plus there’s this little terrace area where you can sit with a drink in the evening and watch the sunset light hit the city walls – sounds cheesy, but it’s actually pretty magical. The only minor thing is that some rooms face the narrow street, so you might hear people chatting as they head back from dinner, but honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district.

Reviews

  • An absolute gem! – Prabha from New Zealand – 21 June 2025 (10/10)

The location, in the heart of Dubrovnik Old Town, could not have been any more convenient. Very close to cafes, restaurants, shops, transport and Pile Gate.

What could be improved: Best to have light luggage as there's a ton of stairs. But great exercise nonetheless.

  • Briliant stay in Dubrovnik – Wing from Hong Kong – 14 June 2025 (10/10)

    the apartment is big
    with two bathrooms
    close to pile gate

What could be improved: just the hot water supply sometimes not so stable

  • Fantastic central apartment – Jill from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (10/10)

Fabulous central location in the Old Town, spacious, well-equipped and clean. Super accommodating host.

What could be improved: Some normal city centre noise at night.

  • Very good – Andrea from United Kingdom – 5 October 2024 (8/10)

Right in the heart of the old town

What could be improved: Early checkout but quite standard in this city

  • Exceptional – Hui from Taiwan – 31 August 2024 (10/10)

Great location. Very convenient. The apt is clean and comfortable.

What could be improved: The stairs are narrow, difficult for big luggage.

  • Amazing! – Benjamin from Australia – 1 August 2024 (10/10)

    Great facilities and value

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Convenient and comfortable place to call home in Dubrovnik. – Thomas from United States – 24 July 2024 (10/10)

Convenient and comfortable location in the old town. Good air conditioning. Separate spacious bedrooms and bathrooms for traveling companions. It is interesting to see how they remodeled the apartment to fit into the old building. Lots of corners to fill. The location is far enough off of the Main Street to be quiet at night. The host was very helpful on our last day, allowing us to store our luggage while waiting for our transportation.

What could be improved: Lots of stairs, some narrow. It’s part of the charm of Dubrovnik.

  • We recommend without a doubt!!! – Cristina from Spain – 30 June 2024 (9/10)

We spent 4 nights at Antunini II and I have to say that the apartment is much better in person than in the photos, it couldn't be better located and it is impeccable!! Dube is lovely and she has helped us with everything we needed.

What could be improved: We have had an unpleasant experience with the transfer that, thanks to Dube, has not been worse

  • Exceptional – Robert from United States – 27 June 2024 (10/10)

Our host was wonderful. She arranged an airport transfer for us and then met us outside the city wall to walk us to Antunini II. Everything in the apartment was nicely arranged and our beds were very comfortable. We had a lot of space, which we appreciated..

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Very comfortable. – Petra from Australia – 25 June 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was very clean with crispy white bedding and towels. Bed was very comfortable.

What could be improved: We missed having some kind of an outdoor space like a balcony, but we knew that was going to be the case when we made the booking.
