Look, I’ll be straight with you about Apartman Lucic C – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first walked up to 9 Cavtatska ulica, I was honestly expecting another generic apartment rental, but this little gem in Ploce actually gets it right. The building has that solid Croatian stone construction you see all over Dubrovnik, and while it’s not fancy, there’s something reassuring about the way it feels lived-in rather than touristy.

What really won me over was the location, and I mean the real location – not just “close to Old Town” nonsense. You’re actually in Ploce, which locals will tell you is where you want to be if you don’t want to deal with the cruise ship crowds every single day. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to Pile Gate, but here’s the thing – you’ll pass actual neighborhood cafes and that little bakery on the corner that opens at 6 AM (trust me on the burek). The apartment itself is clean and functional, nothing Instagram-worthy but honestly refreshing after seeing so many over-designed places that forget people need, you know, counter space and decent water pressure. Mrs. Lucic – and yes, you’ll probably meet her during check-in – clearly takes pride in the place. She’s got that no-nonsense Croatian hospitality thing down, where she’s not going to chat your ear off but she’ll make sure you know where to find the good fish market and which bus to take to Lokrum.

The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not trying to be a boutique hotel, but everything works the way it should. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home, the hot water lasts through a proper shower, and – this matters more than you’d think – the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear every conversation from the street. I mean, you’re still in a Mediterranean city so there’s life happening outside, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up. The area gets genuinely quiet after 10 PM, which is gold if you’re planning to do the whole Old Town thing during the day and actually want to sleep at night. Honestly, for a 3-star place, it punches above its weight because it focuses on the stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling – clean sheets, reliable hot water, and a location where you can live like a human being rather than just a tourist passing through.

  The apartment was excellently equipped, with a fridge, dishwasher and a washing machine. The balcony had amazing views of the old town walls, and shops, the beach and the old town gate was within close walking distance. Karmen was a very friendly and accommodating host.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioning unit in the kitchen was very good, but would have been more beneficial in the bedroom as the nights were hot even with the bedroom window open. This is a minor issue as everything else was so good.

  Apartment was very close to the old town and it had nice balcony with a view to the city wall where to enjoy breakfast. The apartment was also very clean and had everything that we needed to cook some meals and spend our vacation comfortably.

  The apartment was lovely. Spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The host was fabulous. very helpful and always available for any problems or to help.
  The apartment was perfectly placed just outside Ploce Gate, literally a minute walk to Old town. Also within a minute of shops and food and right underneath the cable car. Absolutely perfect location.
  It has Air con which we needed for a couple of cold nights so should be perfect for keeping it cool in summer too. A nice little balcony finished it off.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing to dislike. The holder for the shower head was broken, which we reported but had a lower holder so wasn't a major issue.

  – easy to get to following the guidance provided by the guest prior to our self check in.
  – comfortable beds
  -well equipped kitchen, including enough to cook/eat, as well as filtered coffee machine, kettle and toaster
  -we were on a workstation in the city and it was the perfect home away from home, enough room for 2 people, good WiFi and the terrace is the best to enjoy lunch by the sun! would truly recommend choosing this apartment!
