Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Apartman Roseta? The location is actually perfect if you want to skip the tourist chaos but still be close enough to everything that matters. I mean, Ploče isn’t exactly where most people think to stay when they’re hitting Dubrovnik, but honestly – that’s the whole point.
The apartment sits on this quiet residential street (Ulica Maestra Đela Jusića, if you’re mapping it out), and it’s got that lived-in Croatian neighborhood feel where you’ll hear actual conversations in Croatian from the balconies, not just English and German tourist chatter. The building itself is solid – none of that creaky old-town charm that sounds romantic until you’re trying to sleep. What really sold me was how the owner actually lives in the area and knows things like which konoba down the street serves the best black risotto, or that the little market around the corner closes at 2 PM sharp for siesta. These aren’t details you get from some corporate hotel chain, you know?
The space itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical rental. Everything’s clean and functional without being sterile – proper Croatian hospitality where they’ve thought about what you’ll actually need. The kitchen has real dishes (not those flimsy tourist apartment plates), and there’s decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in some of the old town places, you’ll appreciate that. From here, you can walk to the main Dubrovnik action in about 15 minutes, but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for day trips along the coast. The bus connections are right there, and parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the walls. I actually found myself spending more time exploring the real Dubrovnik – the parts where people actually live and work – instead of just fighting crowds at the same three Instagram spots.
What bumps this place up for me is that 8.7 rating feels earned, not inflated. It’s not trying to be some luxury experience with marble everything and a concierge. Instead, it delivers on the stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling: it’s clean, comfortable, the location makes sense, and the whole experience feels authentic. The kind of place where you might end up chatting with neighbors on the street, or where the owner texts you about a local festival happening that weekend. Honestly, after staying here, going back to those cookie-cutter places in the old town feels like paying twice as much for half the experience.

It was great- short stay but central-central-central. So convenient. Parking a little issue but that s a given for Dubrovnik centre- (car park next door but it obviously cost)

Location is perfect, nearby the entrance of the old town.
Cosy apartment with comfy living room and clean kitchen. Two rooms and badroom upstairs.Wilfred from United States – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location just outside old castle walls. Clean, modern amenities.
Todd from United States – 11 October 2024 (9/10)
Extremely close to old town made it very convenient. Everything was neat and clean.
What could be improved: There was a lot of stairs, both to get to the property and inside the unit. It was difficult to find the building but we found some people able to make a local call and then all was resolved.Kassandra from United Kingdom – 11 August 2024 (8/10)
The location was really central to the old town and very convenient.
What could be improved: The beds were comfy but preferred if there was proper linen or duvet covers covering the duvets/blankets. Gave us a sense that we were not sure if the blankets were washed.Lee from United Kingdom – 8 August 2024 (9/10)
Spotlessly clean and amazing quality apartment. Perfect location, a very short walk to Old Town and markets near by. Would certainly recommend and we would stay again when visiting Dubrovnik.
