You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Apartment Ana honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. The thing is, when you see a 3-star rating, you sort of brace yourself for mediocrity – but this place has that 9.8 rating for a reason, and I get it now. Ana (yeah, she’s a real person, not some corporate entity) has created something special here on Riječka street.

The location is actually genius if you know Dubrovnik at all. You’re far enough from the Old Town chaos that you can sleep without drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM, but close enough that you can walk there in about 15 minutes – and trust me, that walk is gorgeous once you get the hang of the route. I mean, parking in the Old Town is basically impossible anyway, so being slightly outside is actually perfect. The neighborhood feels properly Croatian too, with little bakeries and that corner store where the owner started recognizing me by day three. There’s this quiet residential vibe that makes you feel like you’re living there, not just passing through.

What really got me though was the attention to detail – Ana clearly thinks like a traveler. The apartment had all these small touches that you only notice when they’re missing elsewhere: really good water pressure (honestly, this matters more than people admit), blackout curtains that actually work, and a kitchen stocked with basics like olive oil and coffee. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which saved my life for work calls. She’d left this handwritten note with local recommendations too – not tourist traps, but places like this family-run konoba about ten minutes away where I had the best black risotto of my trip. The space itself feels fresh and clean without being sterile, if that makes sense. You can tell someone cares about maintaining it properly.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-passing dance you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Ana met me right on time and took five minutes to actually explain the neighborhood, pointing out the best route to the beach and warning me about the construction happening two streets over (which, honestly, I never even noticed). The whole experience felt personal in a way that hotels rarely achieve, even the fancy ones. I’ve already recommended it to three friends heading to Dubrovnik, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back myself – that’s really the test, isn’t it?

  Very well equipped apartment. Very close to markets, restaurants and bakeries. I loved the kitchen appliances and the spices the host provided. Within walking distance to the beach.
  
  What could be improved: A little bit far from the old town if you are walking. A quick Uber ride.

  A compact but very comfortable apartment in a handy location. Everything you need in apartment, including oven and microwave. Ana and husband very very helpful and picked us up from ferry and Ana stayed to show us how everything worked and helped with info. Many buses to central Dubrovnik from very nearby bus stop. Choice of big and small supermarkets and some restaurants nearby.

  The apartments are perfectly located in a quiet area. They are only a 5-7 minute walk from the nearest beach and 3 minutes from a shop and a bus stop. We found everything we needed there; it was fully equipped with various kitchenware, plenty of towels, and an iron. The apartments were really cozy, modern, and clean. Ana and her husband Tihi were always in touch and quickly answered all our questions. They also recommended several good places to visit. It was a very pleasant stay with only positive feedback.

  Ana is very helpful. When we had queries about the local shops, bus tickets, best local wines etc., she gave us lots of information and the best advices.
  The location – 5 min from the beach and local shops, bus stop.
  The accommodation is Smart in all senses. All little details included, clean.
  You have that "feeling of home".
  No steep hills around, which is important during the hot weather.
