The location is actually genius if you know Dubrovnik at all. You’re far enough from the Old Town chaos that you can sleep without drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM, but close enough that you can walk there in about 15 minutes – and trust me, that walk is gorgeous once you get the hang of the route. I mean, parking in the Old Town is basically impossible anyway, so being slightly outside is actually perfect. The neighborhood feels properly Croatian too, with little bakeries and that corner store where the owner started recognizing me by day three. There’s this quiet residential vibe that makes you feel like you’re living there, not just passing through.
What really got me though was the attention to detail – Ana clearly thinks like a traveler. The apartment had all these small touches that you only notice when they’re missing elsewhere: really good water pressure (honestly, this matters more than people admit), blackout curtains that actually work, and a kitchen stocked with basics like olive oil and coffee. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which saved my life for work calls. She’d left this handwritten note with local recommendations too – not tourist traps, but places like this family-run konoba about ten minutes away where I had the best black risotto of my trip.
