The bus to Old Town runs regularly, but honestly, the walk is half the experience. You pass through these neighborhoods where you can actually see how people live here, not just the tourist version of Dubrovnik. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center – Ana can actually give you solid advice on street parking, which saved me probably 30 euros a day compared to the hotel lots.

The apartment gets morning light but stays cool in the afternoon, which is perfect during summer months when the heat can be pretty intense. I stayed there in September and again in May, and both times the temperature inside was just right without cranking the AC. There’s this little balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee and actually hear birds instead of tour groups – sounds cheesy, but after a few days in the old city crowds, you’ll appreciate it.
