You know what struck me first about Apartment Aurora I? It’s tucked right on Bana Josipa Jelačića street in Lapad, which honestly feels like you’ve discovered this perfect pocket of Dubrovnik that most tourists completely miss. I mean, everyone’s rushing to the Old Town (which, fair enough, is stunning), but staying here in Lapad actually gives you this nice breathing room from all that medieval stone and cruise ship crowds.

The apartment itself is properly comfortable – not fancy, but it’s got that clean, well-maintained feel that makes you relax the moment you walk in. The 8.9 rating makes total sense because it’s one of those places that just works, you know? Everything’s where it should be, the wifi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home, and the shower pressure is actually decent (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in Croatian apartments). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Lapad has this residential vibe where you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the occasional car, maybe some distant chatter from the cafés down the street.

The location is honestly brilliant if you want to experience Dubrovnik like someone who actually lives here. There’s this lovely promenade along the water that locals use for their evening walks, and you’re maybe a 15-minute bus ride from the Old Town when you want to do the tourist thing. But here’s the thing – you’ve got proper bakeries nearby, a morning market that’s not performing for visitors, and these little konobas where the waiters aren’t constantly switching between five languages. I found myself grabbing coffee at this spot just two streets over where the owner started recognizing me by day three. The beach situation is pretty great too – Lapad Bay is right there, and it’s got that protected feel with actual sand, not just the rocky coastline you get elsewhere. Gets busy during peak summer afternoons, but early morning or after 4 PM? It’s perfect for a swim without feeling like you’re in a postcard that everyone else is also trying to photograph.

  Great location with easy walking distance to Dubrovnik old town. Only 5 mins walk to local beach. Very clean throughout and very comfortable beds. Cute little balcony. Great aircon which was essential in the 35 degree heat! Kitchen and laundry well kitted out. Great communication and easy arrival/departure information. Supermarket , bakery and take away food near by making buying food easy.

  Well maintained apartment. Clean and beautiful apartment. Close to convenience shops. Old town is 20 min walk from the apartment.
  
  What could be improved: We felt a bit cold at night as there was no AC in the bedroom. The washing machine door seems to be faulty and it was not working for the door.

  It was a big apartment with everything to be confortable
  The person in charge was algo very kind. We had an issue with the check in but she solved it properly and even compensated us with a dinner 🙂
