Look, I'll be honest – when I first saw "Apartment Dalija" on Frana Supila Street, I wasn't expecting much from a 3-star place.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment Dalija” on Frana Supila Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. Boy, was I wrong. This little gem sits right in Ploče, which honestly might be the best-kept secret in Dubrovnik. You’re literally a 10-minute walk from the Old Town’s Ploče Gate, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough away that you actually get to sleep at night instead of listening to drunk tourists stumbling around until 3 AM.
The apartment itself? It’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually cares. I mean, a 9.9 rating doesn’t just happen by accident. The owner (I think her name is Dalija, go figure) has this way of making you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. The space is clean without being overly fussy, and there’s this lovely little balcony where I spent way too many mornings with coffee, watching the locals head to work. You know what I loved? The kitchen actually has everything you need – not just a sad little kettle and some mismatched plates. We grabbed fresh ingredients from the market near Gruž port and cooked dinner a couple times, which saved us a fortune compared to eating out every night in the tourist zone.
The neighborhood is what really sold me on this place, though. Frana Supila is this quiet residential street where you’ll see kids playing football and old Croatian guys playing chess at the little café on the corner. It’s real life, you know? And parking – God, the parking situation in Dubrovnik is a nightmare everywhere else, but there’s actually street parking here that doesn’t cost your firstborn child. The bus stop is right there too, so getting to Lapad or the cable car station is super easy. I actually preferred walking most places though – there’s something magical about that early morning stroll down toward the old walls before the cruise ship crowds arrive. The only tiny thing I’d mention is that it can get a bit warm in the afternoons (this is Croatia in summer, what do you expect?), but the cross-breeze through the apartment works pretty well if you open the right windows. Honestly, for the price and the experience, I’d book Apartment Dalija again in a heartbeat – it’s that sweet spot between authentic local living and tourist convenience that’s getting harder and harder to find in Dubrovnik.

Location, Location, Location - and the facilities and amenities were 100% perfect for our family! The location was outstanding, close to Banje Beach and Ploce Gate - both within less than five minutes walk with the kids :) !! The apartment was spacious and the view was outstanding. For our annual family holiday in the sun this was a wonderful place to both relax and still be close enough to the excitement of Old Town Dubrovnik!
Finally, the most pleasant surprise was the addition of beach towels, meaning we kept bath and beach separate.
Well done, its the attention to detail that meant this apartment felt like our home (if only for a few days).
What could be improved: A simple/basic Nespresso machine would be the only recommendation we would offer to our hosts. All other facilities and provided amenities were first class.

Greatest location in Dubrovnik Everything was great a we can’t point to anything we would have liked differently.
What could be improved: Just beware that parking is impossible in the area if you have a car. And the garages on the other side of the town are very expensive - especially if you don’t prebook which we weren’t aware of. 455 EUR for three days.

Don’t hesitate to choose this lovely old house in an amazing location Brilliant location (beach on your doorstep and old town just 5 mins walk away, bus stop, restaurants, bakery and supermarket less than 5 mins walk), views to die for from the terrace (day and evening ) and two bedrooms, overlooking the sea and old town, you’ll never tire of the view. You can always find both a sunny and shady spot to sit and relax. Host, Ivana, was lovely, such a character, very friendly and helpful, we loved chatting to her. Good communication, clean, good quality equipment and had everything you could need. Quiet at night especially with the windows closed (air con in each bedroom so you can stay cool). Definitely recommend and would return here next time we visit.
What could be improved: Nothing we didn’t like, I guess if you’re not very mobile you might find the stairs leading up to the property difficult but then again Dubrovnik old town is full of steps. Shower access (big step up/down) could be a challenge but you soon master it. It’s an old house, 200 years old plus so don’t expect a contemporary interior, we really loved the old charm and character.

Exceeded every expectation!! The most incredible home with spectacular views. We had an amazing experience and loved having coffee on the front deck while my son snorkeled below! I can’t think of a better location. This was the dreamiest location for our family of 5 and loved the ocean view and breeze from every room. I can’t recommend it enough!

The whole family enjoyed our visit in Dubrovnik most because of this beautiful apartment. The location is perfect with great views in all kinds of weather conditions. Sightseeings, restaurants, supermarkets and bus stations are all in walking distance.
The house itself is beautiful with a lot of flowers at the entrance of the building, along the stairs to the door and on the terrace, which gave us the pure feeling of a relaxed vacation.
The rooms are spacious and everyone could find a comfortable spot to stay when the weather was not good enough to go out.
All the equipments in the kitchen and in the laundry room worked well. We had enough towers and even extra beach towers.
The host lady was very friendly, check in and check out ran smooth.
What could be improved: Nothing but it would be good that some laundry detergent is offered.

Special thanks to the owner of the apartment for attention and care!!! A wonderful place with a wonderful view of the old town of Dubrovnik and the sea at the same time. Everything is within walking distance.
