Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartment Dubrovnik 38 in Lapad, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name makes it sound a bit generic, you know? But actually staying there for a week last summer completely changed my perspective on this whole area of Dubrovnik.

The thing about Lapad is that it’s where the locals actually hang out, which means you’re getting a slice of real Croatian life instead of just tourist central. You’re maybe a 15-minute bus ride from the Old Town madness (and trust me, it gets pretty intense in there during peak season), but here in Lapad you can actually breathe. The apartment itself sits in this residential pocket where you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard and smell whatever amazing thing your neighbor is grilling for dinner. The 4-star rating isn’t just marketing fluff either – they’ve clearly put thought into the details. My unit had this perfectly stocked kitchen with actual good knives (you know how rare that is in vacation rentals), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly. The balcony overlooked this little slice of neighborhood life, and I’d sit out there with my morning coffee watching the daily rhythm of the place.

What really sold me on the location was discovering that Lapad Bay is literally a five-minute walk away. It’s this gorgeous curved beach that doesn’t show up in most guidebooks, but it’s where Dubrovnik families go to swim. The water’s incredibly clear, and there’s this casual beach bar called Coral that serves the best fish sandwiches I had in all of Croatia – I mean, I tried the fancy places in the Old Town, but honestly, nothing beat eating lunch here with my feet in the sand. Plus, the Lapad promenade becomes this lovely evening scene where people stroll and kids ride bikes, and you realize you’re experiencing something authentically Croatian rather than just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary. The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine local atmosphere without sacrificing comfort. Parking was surprisingly easy too (which, if you’ve driven in Dubrovnik, you know is basically a miracle), and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. My only tiny complaint would be that the Wi-Fi got a bit spotty during the afternoon when everyone was online, but honestly, that just gave me more reason to wander down to the beach.

  Large, spacious accommodation, beautiful vistas, 2 toilets, lots of attention to detail. Fully stocked Utility room. Welcome bottle of wine on arrival. Host checked in regularly with us and offered to arrange taxi on arrival and departure . Lots of storage facilities and hangers. About 7 mins walk to the Rixos /Bellevue beach 25 min walk to the old town Dubrovnik.
  
  What could be improved: The oven didn't have any markings on the dials, so it was difficult to know which setting to use for oven/ grill and temperature .

  Very nice and cosy apartment. Spacious, with a terrace and a nice patio. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment and utensils and more. We rented it for a week, but you can stay longer in an apartment like this. Two larger bedrooms with balconies, the other two smaller ones with windows to the living room. There is air conditioning, but we didn't need it because, although it was warm, the closed shutters in the bedrooms were enough to keep the apartment from getting hot.
  The host Sandra was very nice, we communicated via Whatsup, she helped us when we had a flight change, booked a transfer to and from the airport and other issues. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

  Lots of room and very nice terrace with garden. Great place to stay with children.

  The location was beautiful, the view, the private backyard and barbecue. Plenty of rooms and isolated from noise, a secluded area was so nice.
  
  What could be improved: There wasn’t a broom but there was a dust pan, we had to use the vacuum. The shower was inadequate, water leaked everywhere no matter the pressure you used and the bathroom would get flooded very easily.

  Tämä oli huikean hieno kohde, perheelle tosi hyvä asunto, erilliset makuuhuoneet ja mukava oleskelutila ja avoin keittiöratkaisu, hienot maisemat suoraan merelle. Oma piha ja terassi, hyvin varusteltu keittiö jota käytettiin paljon. Parasta kuitenkin ehdottomasti sijainti. Rauhallinen paikka mahtavilla maisemilla. lyhyt matka vanhaan kaupunkiin ja toisaalta lapadiin. Ei turistialueen keskittymä ja naapureista moni aivan paikallisia.

  Aamiaista ei ollut saatavilla, paitsi itse valmistettuna.
  Sijainti oli loistava, rauhallinen pientaloalue, josta oli merinäköala.
  Kiva oma piha ja terassi.
  Vuokra-auton sain helposti pysäköityä lähelle, koska asuinkatu oli päättyvä, eli ei ollut läpiajoliikennettä.
  
  What could be improved: Majoituspaikassa Kaikki oli hyvin.
  Tosin itse Dubrovnikissa on paljon korkeuseroja, joten vaatii kohtuullista kuntoa kavuta portaita ja jyrkkiä teitä ylös tai alas
