I mean, the location on Ulica Maestra Đela Jusića is honestly pretty clever if you know Dubrovnik at all. You’re in Ploče, which sounds fancy but is really just the newer part of town where actual locals live and work. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to the Old Town walls, but here’s the thing – you’ll actually want to make that walk because you’re avoiding all the cruise ship chaos that hits the historic center every morning around 9 AM.
The building itself has this sort of understated Croatian charm that grows on you. Nothing flashy, but the rooms are clean and bigger than what you’d get for the same price closer to Stradun. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which is refreshing when you’re used to those massive resort chains. What I really appreciated was the neighborhood vibe – there’s a little bakery about two blocks down where the locals grab their morning coffee, and you know what? The pastries are better than anything you’ll find in the tourist zone. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to Dubrovnik), but the front desk folks know all the spots where you won’t get towed. The 8.2 rating makes sense because it’s one of those places that does the basics really well without trying to be something it’s not.
Honestly, the best part about staying here is that you get to experience Dubrovnik like someone who actually lives there. You’ll hear church bells in the morning instead of tour groups, and the little grocery store across the street stays open later than the ones in the Old Town. The rooms have decent air conditioning – crucial in summer – and the Wi-Fi actually works, which isn’t always a given in these older Croatian buildings. If you’re the type who needs to be right in the middle of everything, this might feel a bit removed, but if you appreciate having a quiet base to return to after fighting the crowds at the city walls, it’s perfect. Plus, the walk back uphill after dinner is just enough to work off all that seafood risotto.

Superb Great location- very close to the old town. Market and bakery very near- 3min walking. Apartment was very comfortable and has everything people need for holiday- short and long term. Air conditioning working good, bed was comfortable, kitchen has all the necessary staff.

Stay minutes to the Old Town That it was so so sooo close to the old town!! Literally few minutes of walking distance! Comfy bed and air-conditioner, TV with Netflix

Very convenient location, reasonable price, unclear check in procedure, kitchen not functional The location was just outside the Ploce Gate and a 2 min walk from the airport and city bus stop.
What could be improved: The check in procedure was never communicated and resulted in an unwanted adventure after an 18 hr flight. I emailed our 15:00 arrival time which was acknowledged. A helpful video was sent to assist in finding the front door of the apartment which is down an alleyway. After entering the building there were no signs or doorbell to verify that we were in the correct location. We went up 2 flights of unlit stairs and knocked on 2 doors in the apartment building before finding a neighbor who was home and called our contact for us. The neighbor showed us to the unlocked apartment where we found the key inside. We never met the rental contact, and unlike our other check in experience, we were never asked for our passports.
Toilet problem was never addressed,
even though we were told it would be. After arriving, we noticed that the toilet was running and very difficult to flush. I emailed our contact who indicated that she knew about it and would have someone replace the toilet the next day if we left the apartment open. While we felt uncomfortable leaving the apartment unlocked, we thought the toilet repair was a priority. No repair of the toilet ever happened.
