Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartment Edita? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Lapad – Gorica Svetog Vlaha 177 – which honestly sounds intimidating when you’re trying to find it with a suitcase, but it’s actually pretty straightforward once you get your bearings. The Lapad peninsula is where a lot of locals go to escape the tourist madness of the Old Town, and staying here gave me this authentic glimpse into how Dubrovnik actually lives and breathes beyond the Game of Thrones crowds.

The apartment itself feels like staying at someone’s well-kept family place rather than a sterile hotel room. I mean, it’s got that lived-in comfort without being shabby – you can tell Edita (and yes, there really is an Edita) takes pride in keeping everything just so. The kitchen actually has proper Croatian coffee cups, not those tiny hotel ones, and there’s this little balcony where you can hear the morning sounds of the neighborhood waking up. What I loved most was walking down to the Lapad Bay in the evenings – it’s maybe a 10-minute stroll through these tree-lined streets where you’ll pass old-timers playing chess and kids riding bikes. The bay itself has this gorgeous promenade with cafes that stay open late, and honestly, the sunset views across the water are just as stunning as anything you’ll get from the city walls, but without fighting through selfie sticks to see them.

Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites won’t tell you – you’re actually in the perfect spot for both worlds. The bus to Old Town runs frequently (number 6, catch it right at the main Lapad stop), and the ride takes about 15 minutes along the coast. But more importantly, you’re surrounded by real Croatian life. There’s a fantastic bakery about three blocks away that opens at 6 AM – you’ll smell the bread baking if you’re an early riser. The Lapad market happens twice a week, and I stumbled across some of the best olives I’ve ever tasted there. Sure, it’s not a luxury resort, but that 8.6 rating makes total sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price. The apartment is clean, the shower has proper water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking Dubrovnik’s stone streets), and there’s reliable WiFi if you need to check in with the world. Sometimes you find places that just feel right, you know? Apartment Edita is one of those spots where you settle in quickly and start planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews

  • Fabulous stay with lovely, friendly host. – Veronica from United Kingdom – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

Lovely, clean, comfortable apartment. Wonderful area outside to sit in the shade or in the sunshine. It was ready for me for an early check in at 10am. That was so appreciated. Lovely lady who had left me a carton of fresh orange juice and some lovely biscuits. On another occasion she brought me some freshly baked cake which was beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.

  • Lovely accommodation about 20 mins to City Wall. Based in Lapad good location. – Mary from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Even gave us both a present when we left.

  • Comfortable apartment – Marco from Germany – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is small, but there is everything that may be needed for a short stay in Dubrovnik. It has also a garden with a nice view. The owner of the apartment lives nearby and is extremely kind. She welcomed us with some cold drinks and one day she even brought icecream for our kids. The old town is not very close, but still reachable by foot in 20-30 minutes. There is also a small but very nice pebble beach not far away (close to the hotel Bellevue).

What could be improved: We had some issues with the check-in, because there is an agency acting as mediator between guests and host, but when we called to know ho to check-in they just put us on hold forever. After three calls we discovered just by chance that the owner was waiting us in the garden. As an additional note, there are insects and mosquitos around (which, of course, it's normal given the location of the apartment), so better to be prepared!

  • Exceptional – Simonastan from France – 9 August 2024 (10/10)

  • Decent value but could be better – Jiwoo from Australia – 14 June 2024 (8/10)

Good location halfway between old town and the port. Nice view of the ocean from the backyard. Very nice hosts who provided refreshments on arrival.

What could be improved: Street parking can be hard to find nearby but possible. Limited kitchen utensils. No natural light in room except for through the glass door.

The apartment and especially the hosts were amazing. They were very kind and helpful. The appartment is in a very great location, with a small garden from which you can see the sea. The hosts were extremely friendly, very nice and lovely. You have everything in the appartment what you need and it was very clean. We will definitely come back when in Dubrivnik.

What could be improved: There is no such thing. One of the best experience we have had so far.
