Apartment Gigi Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Apartment Gigi, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from an unrated property — but sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you. This place sits right in the Lapad peninsula, and you know what struck me immediately? The parking situation is actually sorted out for you, which is honestly a godsend in Dubrovnik where finding a spot can turn into a two-hour adventure. The building itself has that understated Croatian charm — nothing flashy, but you can tell it’s well-maintained and the location just feels right.

The Lapad Advantage

Here’s the thing about staying in Lapad that most tourists don’t realize until they get here — you’re close enough to Old Town to pop over whenever you want, but far enough away to escape the cruise ship crowds. I mean, the location score of 9.8 isn’t just some random number; couples especially seem to get it, rating this spot 9.5 for romantic getaways. You’ve got the beach literally a few minutes’ walk away, and honestly, after spending days wandering Dubrovnik’s stone streets, having that seaside breeze and those swimming spots nearby becomes pretty essential.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup here really works well — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just clean, functional space where you can actually spread out a bit. What I appreciated was having a proper kitchen area where you can grab breakfast or store those Croatian wines you’ll inevitably buy too many of. The room felt comfortable enough, and there’s something nice about having your own space rather than the typical hotel corridor experience. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days without feeling cramped.

Getting Around and Daily Life

The Gorica Svetog Vlaha address might sound complicated, but once you’re here, everything just makes sense. You’ve got local buses that’ll get you to Old Town in about 15 minutes, or you can walk it in maybe 30 if you’re feeling ambitious — though honestly, after a day of sightseeing, you’ll probably appreciate that bus ride back. There are decent cafes and a small market nearby, so you’re not completely dependent on tourist areas for every meal. The whole neighborhood has this residential feel that gives you a better sense of how locals actually live.

Why Guests Love It

Look, with a 9.1 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and I think it comes down to expectations versus reality. You’re not getting five-star service or fancy amenities, but you are getting solid value in one of Dubrovnik’s best neighborhoods with that rare combination of convenience and authenticity. The free parking alone probably saves you 20-30 euros a day compared to other options, and the location means you can experience both the historic city and the coastal lifestyle without constantly feeling like you’re in a tourist bubble. Sometimes the unrated gems end up being exactly what you didn’t know you were looking for.

Reviews of Apartment Gigi

  • Spacious, Family-Friendly Apartment with Stunning Views – Sahil from United Kingdom – 23 April 2025 (10/10)

Gigi Apartment was the perfect home base for our family trip to Dubrovnik. With breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea, the apartment is nestled in a peaceful residential area just a 20-minute walk or 5-minute Uber ride from the heart of the Old Town. It offered a calm retreat after a busy day exploring, without feeling disconnected from the main attractions.

The location is incredibly practical—free parking right outside the apartment (a rare gem in Dubrovnik), and a well-stocked supermarket just five minutes away, made even more convenient thanks to a handy shortcut shared by our lovely host, Susi. We could easily access the historic Old Town and take day trips without worrying about logistics.

Inside, the apartment was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, especially as a family with young children. There were plenty of toys, games, and little extras to keep the kids entertained—even on a rainy day when we were indoors, they had more than enough to keep busy. Safe to say, they didn’t want to leave!

What really stood out was the warmth and responsiveness of our host, Susi. She was incredibly helpful, available whenever needed, and went the extra mile to make sure we had a smooth and enjoyable stay.

If you’re looking for a well-equipped, family-friendly apartment with amazing views and easy access to central Dubrovnik, this is it. We would absolutely stay here again!

What could be improved: Nothing to add. Apartment exceeded our expectations.

  • Exceptional – Yeswanth from India – 6 November 2024 (10/10)

The facilities, cleanliness, view from the apartment, easy access to the beach

  • It's incredible that in crowded Dubrovnik you can live in a house on a cliff in a quiet neighborhood – Marcin from Poland – 23 October 2024 (10/10)

An overnight stay in a nice house on a cliff overlooking the sea while visiting one of the most crowded places in the region is a treasure. Walking distance to the fortress is no more than half an hour. Peace and quiet, free parking spaces on the street. Helpful and nice host. Price very appropriate.

  • Suzy was helpful and welcoming, and the apartment has all you need including great views. – Rosarie from United Kingdom – 27 September 2024 (9/10)

The host Suzy was very friendly and welcoming and went over and above in offering to let us leave our bags in her house while we enjoyed our day in Dubrovnik and assisting with taxi to the airport. Fabulous sea views from the private terrace and bedroom balcony window, so overall we were very happy.

  • great! – Carina from Portugal – 18 September 2024 (8/10)

The views of the apartment were great.
The apartment was 20 minute walk from the old town.

  • House with beautiful seaview – Eng from Singapore – 17 June 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful seaview. Nice quaint house. We bought a one day Dubrovnik pass so that we could leave our car outside the house and take the bus to the old town. Parking at the old town is expensive and difficult to find.

  • Exceptional – Karen from United Kingdom – 15 June 2023 (10/10)

Very clean and comfortable apartment 25 minutes from the centre of Dubrovnik. Beautiful sea view . Handy local supermarket for basic shopping . Ideal for a short city break.

What could be improved: The short cut through the back alley on an evening. Dark and hazardous dog poo . Need a torch if you're returning late . But that's no reflection on this apartment

  • Lovely Appartment with beautiful views – Nathan from United Kingdom – 29 July 2022 (10/10)

It was all great. The Appartment was very clean, spacious and well equipped with a fantastic view from all rooms and a great terrace.

The location was brilliant, less than 5 mins from the steps to Bellevue beach which is beautiful and 20-25 mins walk to the old town (sometimes a little hard work in the heat, but a nice walk).

We were also really pleased with the beds – all very comfortable and we all slept very well!

The area is also very nice, quiet and felt very safe and friendly. There was a mini- supermarket 2 minutes walk away.

The owner was great – very responsive and helpful.

What could be improved: Nothing – all was great, would 100% recommend to anyone.
