The apartment itself sits in Ploče, which honestly might be one of Dubrovnik’s best-kept secrets for staying close to everything without dealing with Old Town’s summer crowds. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Ploče Gate – the eastern entrance to the old city – but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The two bedrooms are actually spacious (I mean, we’re talking European standards here, but genuinely comfortable), and whoever designed this place understood that travelers need real storage space and decent lighting. The kitchen has everything you’d actually use, not just the bare minimum that makes you want to eat out every meal.

What really sold me on this spot was how it captures that perfect Dubrovnik light – you know, that golden hour glow that makes every Instagram photo look professionally shot. The balcony faces southeast, so you get gorgeous morning sun without the brutal afternoon heat that bakes the western-facing places. I spent way too many mornings out there watching the ferry boats head toward the islands, and honestly, it never got old. The building itself is well-maintained (the elevator works, which is more than I can say for some places in the area), and the other guests were refreshingly normal – mostly couples and small families, not party groups. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood, but the hosts actually know the area well enough to give you real advice about where to leave your car without getting ticketed. The whole experience felt less like staying in a rental and more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a prime piece of Dubrovnik real estate.

  This apartment has a stunning view of the water. The apartment was well-appointed with cleaning supplies and kitchen supplies. Beds were comfortable with extra blankets.
  
  What could be improved: The steps up to the apartment weren’t clearly described in the description. But, they were ok to climb. There is no elevator.
