I mean, you’re literally steps from Dubrovnik’s old port area, and when I say sea view, I’m talking about waking up to actual glimpses of the Adriatic, not some tiny sliver between buildings like you get at half the places claiming water views.

The apartment itself is honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. It’s got that lived-in Croatian coastal vibe – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean. The best part? You’re right in the thick of things without being stuck in the tourist bubble of the Old Town (though you can walk there in like 10 minutes). Svetog Kriza is actually where some locals still live, so you’ll hear real conversations in Croatian drifting up from the street, maybe catch the scent of someone’s morning coffee mixed with that salty sea air. The building’s older – I mean, this is Dubrovnik, everything’s old – but it’s got character and the apartment feels authentically Croatian, not like those sterile hotel boxes.

What really won me over was the location’s practicality. You’re close enough to Pile Gate that you can pop into the Old Town whenever you want, but far enough that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at 7 AM. There’s a small market nearby where you can grab groceries (the owner speaks decent English), and honestly, sitting on that little balcony with a morning coffee watching the harbor come alive… well, it’s sort of perfect. The 7.6 rating seems about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s genuine and comfortable. Just know that Croatian apartments can get warm in summer, and while there’s AC, it’s not arctic-level cooling. Also, if you’re planning to drive, parking around here can be a bit of a puzzle during peak season. But honestly? For the price point and that authentic Dubrovnik experience without the Old Town premium, this place hits the sweet spot.

  Clean and good view. Owner was lovely qnd gave us bottle of Chardonnay. Kitchen is well equipped and clean.

  What could be improved: There were two 'ancient' airconditioners, which when I turned on, died and wouldn't work. The matresses need to be upgraded, I could feel every spring individually. The lock to the door is old and at times difficult to work. These issues wouldn't be a problem if the price were lower, but as the room is not cheap I would have imagined better facilities would be available. Didn't get a receipt.

  This apartment was amazing, the view was perfect and the apartment was very well equipped with cleaning supplies a full kitchen and laundry. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were all very clean. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveller
