You know what struck me first about Apartment Lolo? It’s actually in Lapad, which — honestly — is where I’d want to stay if I were doing Dubrovnik again. I mean, everyone obsesses over being right in Old Town, but then you’re dealing with cruise ship crowds and those narrow stone streets that echo with rolling suitcases at all hours. Lapad’s got this residential vibe that feels like actual Croatia, not just tourist Croatia.

The apartment itself is pretty much what you’d hope for in a two-bedroom setup. That loggia they mention? It’s basically a covered balcony situation, and while the street view isn’t going to win any Instagram contests, there’s something nice about watching normal Croatian life happen below. I actually found myself having morning coffee out there, watching people head to work and kids walking to school. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile — good lighting, decent kitchen where you can actually cook if you want to hit the local markets, and the bedrooms are set up so you’re not stepping on each other if you’re traveling with family or friends.

What really sold me on the location was how easy it is to get around. The bus to Old Town runs regularly and takes maybe fifteen minutes, but here’s the thing locals know — Lapad has its own beach scene and restaurant strip that’s way more affordable than anything in the historic center. There’s this whole promenade area about a ten-minute walk away where you can grab dinner without feeling like you’re paying tourist prices. Plus, if you’re renting a car (which I’d recommend for exploring the coastline), parking here is actually manageable, unlike trying to navigate those medieval streets downtown. The place has that perfect rating for a reason — it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and well-located for people who want to experience Dubrovnik without being trapped in the tourist bubble. Sometimes the best stays are the ones that feel like you’re actually living somewhere, even if it’s just for a few days.

  10mins walk to old town, near to few bus stops if u prefer to walk to old town, go to main bus station. The apartment has everything that you need it, full equipped kitchen, washing machine, hair dryer, iron, wifi etc. The host is friendly, helpful and attend to us promptly. Carmela is nice and cheerful always. I like her.
