You know what struck me first about Apartment Luna i Lucky? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Lapad, but somehow you still feel connected to everything that matters in Dubrovnik. I mean, Žrtava s Dakse isn’t exactly a street tourists stumble upon by accident, which is honestly part of its charm – you’re staying where actual locals live, not in some touristy bubble.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s carefully curated home rather than a sterile hotel room. Luna and Lucky (I’m guessing those are the owners’ names, though I never actually confirmed this) have really thought about what travelers actually need. The kitchen has proper coffee-making equipment – not just one of those terrible instant packets – and there’s enough counter space to actually prepare a decent breakfast with groceries from the Konzum down the street. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters more than people admit when you’re trying to coordinate day trips or stay in touch with home. And honestly, after walking Dubrovnik’s stone streets all day, you’ll appreciate that the floors here are warm and the shower pressure is excellent.

What really sets this place apart though is the location strategy. Lapad peninsula is where smart travelers stay if they want to experience Dubrovnik without the Old Town crowds crushing them daily. You’re about a 15-minute bus ride from Pile Gate (the buses run frequently, even in shoulder season), but when you come home in the evening, you can actually breathe. There’s a lovely pebble beach just a few minutes’ walk away – locals call it Lapad Beach – and it’s where Dubrovnik families go swimming, not just tourists taking selfies. The nearby streets have these unpretentious konobas where you can get excellent seafood without paying Old Town prices, and there’s a small market perfect for picking up fresh ingredients.

I should mention the practical stuff too – parking can be found on the street if you’re driving, which is basically impossible in the Old Town. The building is quiet at night (crucial for light sleepers), and the apartment gets lovely morning light without being too hot in the afternoon. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend confirming arrival times since it’s not a 24-hour front desk situation. The 9.4 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s thoughtful and comfortable in ways that actually matter when you’re traveling. You’ll sleep well, wake up refreshed, and feel like you’re experiencing Dubrovnik from the inside rather than just passing through.

  Absolute luxury apartment, well-equipped. Beautiful little garden, nice location, it's good that parking is also feasible. We visited Dubrovnik during a heat-wave and the apartment was not at all hot!

  We spent 1 week at this apartment and we really enjoyed it. The home had everything we needed with a nice balcony for watching the stars. Everything was close to home, bus to the old down, multiple supermarkets, restaurants, bars, live music and a nice beach where you could watch the sun set.
  The best thing of the stay was the lovely host Zvjezdana, who was very kind and helpful with absolutely everything.
