Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Miško? The address says Old Town, and you’re thinking “oh great, another tourist trap with paper-thin walls and crowds outside your window” – but honestly, this place feels like you’ve stumbled into someone’s actual home, just tucked away on this quiet little street called Dinka Ranjine. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Pile Gate, but somehow the chaos of Stradun feels miles away once you’re inside.

The apartment itself is… well, it’s exactly what you’d want if you actually live in a place instead of just crashing there. The kitchen isn’t some sad afterthought with a broken coffee maker – you can actually cook here, which is huge because let’s be honest, eating out every meal in Dubrovnik will bankrupt you. The owner, Miško (yeah, it’s actually his name), clearly gets that travelers need real space to spread out. I loved how the windows face away from the main pedestrian routes, so you get these glimpses of local life instead of tour groups marching by at 7 AM. There’s this little balcony where you can sit with morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up – shopkeepers hosing down their storefronts, cats picking their way across the ancient stones, that sort of thing.

What really sold me though was the location wisdom. You’re close enough to duck into the old city whenever you want, but far enough from Onofrio’s Fountain that you won’t hear the constant chatter of day-trippers. And here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you – you’re actually closer to some of the better local spots than if you stayed right on the main drag. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens early, and you can grab pastries before the cruise ship crowds even know it exists. The walk to the city walls entrance takes maybe five minutes, but you’ll pass three different routes, so you can avoid the bottlenecks if you time it right. Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik Old Town, so park outside and walk in like everyone else, but at least you’re not dragging luggage up and down a million stairs to get here.

The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or trying too hard, just solid and thoughtful. The WiFi actually works, the shower has decent pressure (miracle in these old buildings), and everything feels clean without that sterile hotel vibe. I guess if I had to nitpick, the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings – nothing crazy, just locals heading to dinner – but honestly, that’s part of the charm. You’re staying in a real neighborhood, not some sanitized tourist bubble.

Very close to centre – handy for all the tourist attractions. Kitchen very well equipped. Shower very good – powerful with lots of hot water. Beds very comfy.

What could be improved: Old Town is extremely crowded!!! Multiple cruise ships in every day ……. can be very difficult to walk about as hoards of people in large groups on tours. I advise max 2 nights stay in old town or even stay outside and bus in for the day. Also very very expensive for food/drink! 2 half pints cost us 16 euro!! Misko apartment perfect for a 2 night stay as everything on your doorstep. Warning though ….can be noisy especially at weekends (bring ear plugs) and there are alot of steps up to apartment.

  • Siobhan from United Kingdom – 11 November 2024 (8/10)

Location was great! right in the middle of the Old Town. A well serviced apartment, with everything you could need during your stay. Very spacious and clean. Hosts were very helpful before we arrived and during our stay. We couldn’t have asked for anywhere better for our first time in Dubrovnik.

What could be improved: Nothing! Just would highlight there are quite a few stairs to get up to the apartment, so it may not be suitable for people with young children or anyone with difficultly climbing stairs.

  • Felicity from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (8/10)

clean very spacious right in the centre of old town 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms large kitchen livingroom. sockets where you need them full length mirror extractor fans in bathrooms with space for all your toiletries

What could be improved: stairs which we knew about but actually quite dangerous for kids as no handrail just outside the apartment door noisy from club til 2am but apart from that all good and would stay again

  • Susan from Canada – 14 October 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic location and all the amenities we could ask for.

What could be improved: It had a lot of stairs 😉

  • Anne from United Kingdom – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

Lovely apartment in great location in the Old Town, right by Rectors Palace, Cathedral, City Walls. Lots of restaurants nearby but also a small supermarket on the square nearby with all you will need to cook meals in the apartment, Spacious, clean and modern.

  • Betty from Austria – 20 August 2024 (8/10)

    Fantastic location, and spacious apartment

What could be improved: The booking process. Direct booker charged me x 3 on booking, I did get x2 returned after 10 days, after contacting booking.com and my bank, but that’s a lot of money and a stressful situation. Then, you get spammed by useless booking.com messages, if I message there they never get answered. I then have to register at direct booker website to get access details, which wouldn’t accept my Austrian format telephone number. THEN I get what’s APP Ed any information (lady was helpful, and this is convenient) BUT why bother with the Direct Booker website page. Zymo are good – use them, or just message the What’s app number via booking. Com.

Also parking, we were recommended an extremely expensive car park, when there are cheaper options – I understand it’s Dubrovnik …. And parking is tricky – but offer all the options.

  • Caroline from Ireland – 15 August 2024 (8/10)

The location was ideal, just up a side street right off the Main Street in Old town. The apartment was spacious and all rooms had aircon. The hosts provided a very detailed document with apartment information.

What could be improved: There is a LOT of stairs up to the apartment – about 4 flights. Just to warn travellers with lots of luggage or small children.

  • Ambre from France – 12 July 2024 (8/10)

The property is perfectly located in the center of Dubrovnik, so easy to come back when you want to rest a bit. The flat is super clean & spacious.

  • Agata from Poland – 29 June 2024 (8/10)

Very nice and spacious apartment. All rooms very comfortable. A large table where you can sit with your family. Great location. You can visit everything and it's also close to the beach. Highly recommended.

  • Michael from Australia – 1 June 2024 (8/10)

    Location, space, beds were excellent

What could be improved: Only one key
