I mean, you’re tucked right under Dubrovnik’s most iconic fortress tower, which sounds touristy until you realize what that actually means for your stay. The narrow stone alley leading to the entrance has this almost secretive feel, like you’re discovering some hidden corner of the old city that most visitors rush past on their way to the main drag. The building itself has that weathered limestone look that screams authentic Dubrovnik – none of that overly polished hotel vibe you get elsewhere in the old town.

What really sets this apartment apart (and why it’s pulling an 8.5 rating despite being a 3-star) is the location knowledge you get from staying here. The Gverovic family – and yeah, it’s actually family-run – will casually mention that the little bakery around the corner opens at 6 AM for fresh buša bread, or that the stone steps leading up to the city walls are practically empty around 7:30 AM if you want those Instagram shots without the crowds. The apartment itself is surprisingly quiet given that you’re literally inside the old town walls. I was expecting tourist noise all night, but the thick stone walls do their job, and most of the foot traffic dies down after the cruise ship crowds head back to their boats around 6 PM. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile – wooden beams overhead, traditional furniture that’s actually comfortable, and a little kitchenette that’s perfect for assembling breakfast with stuff from the Gundulic market (five-minute walk, by the way).

Here’s the thing about staying this close to Minceta Tower – you’re positioned perfectly for the real Dubrovnik experience. Forget about fighting for restaurant reservations on Stradun; you’re close enough to all the main sights that you can actually time your visits strategically. The city walls entrance is basically next door, which means you can pop out for a quick walls walk during golden hour without it being this whole planned expedition. And when the old town gets overwhelming with day-trippers (usually between 10 AM and 4 PM), you can actually retreat to a quiet home base instead of hunting for overpriced café seats. The family running the place has been here for generations, so they’ll steer you toward the local konoba where fishermen actually eat, not the tourist traps with English menus posted outside. Sure, you might hear the occasional church bell from St. Blaise – but honestly, that just adds to the charm of waking up inside a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  The studio is cozy, love the vibe of staying in the old town. The location is strategic, just a minute away from Buza Gate, which is easy access to the old town itself.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioner is not cold, felt uncomfortable especially in the hot summer. Many stairs to walk which is not recommended for traveler with big suitcase and can’t climb stairs.

  Easy to get to, the stairs aren't an issue if you enter via the Buza gate.
  Private, very clean & all the amenities you would need.

  Location was great but there are some stairs from abusa Gate. Definitely don't take Pile Gate to go to apt with luggage. Owner will give you best directions. She's very nice and knowledgeable. We had a great stay. Loved Dubrovnik. First time there. Try Lady Pi Pi's restaurant that's close by and no stairs

  We can stay in the old city and the old house.

  It’s not easy to carry whole heavy luggage’s to climb the steps and reach. Need to remind the elderly or special needs people.
