Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Dubrovnik, and honestly, most of them feel like they’re either tourist traps or completely disconnected from the actual city. But this apartment on Zrinsko Frankopanska? It’s different. First off, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Stradun – and I mean actually two minutes, not that “short walk” nonsense hotels always claim. The building itself has this solid, old-world feel without being stuffy about it. When I walked in, the marble floors and high ceilings immediately made me think “okay, this is actually nice,” not just nice for the price point.

What really got me was how the owners seemed to understand what travelers actually need. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a hotel room – there’s proper counter space in the kitchen (you know how rare that is?), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that doesn’t make you feel like you’re being misted by a garden sprinkler. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which… well, you don’t realize how much that matters until you’ve spent a night on some of the torture devices they pass off as mattresses in other places. I mean, after walking around those stone streets all day, you need real sleep.

The location thing is worth talking about because it’s not just about being close to the Old Town – though that’s obviously huge. You’re on a street that locals actually use, so there’s this authentic neighborhood feel, but you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds that swarm Placa during peak hours. I could grab coffee at this little spot around the corner in the morning before the tourist rush, then slip into the Old Town through one of the side entrances. And here’s something nobody tells you about Dubrovnik – parking is a nightmare everywhere, but staying here means you can actually find street parking nearby if you’re driving, or it’s an easy walk from the main bus station if you’re coming from the airport. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s one of those places where all the small details are thought through. Even check-in was smooth – no standing around wondering if anyone’s actually going to show up with keys. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing Dubrovnik properly, not just checking it off a list.

  The apartment was even better than in the pictures! The view from the balcony is amazing and the location is perfect. Air conditioning kept the whole apartment cool. Bed was comfortable. Communicating with Matea was easy and everything went smoothly. I can highly recommend.
  
  What could be improved: There’s no blackout curtain in the bedroom so the morning light comes in straight away. But at least you’ll be up early to get the best out of beautiful Dubrovnik 🙂

  Great location. You have to walk up a number of steps from the old down, but that didn't bother us and we got an incredible view.
  Had everything we needed. The hosts sorted a cot for our 2 year old which was great. We had a brilliant stay with great accommodation.

  the view is simply stunning! the apartment very clean with a kitchen very well provide with everything needed to prepare a snack or a lunch. the coffee machine it has been really appreciated and my kids have also appreciated Netflix.
