You know what struck me first about Apartment Sea Shell? It’s tucked away on Kliševska Street in this quiet residential pocket of Dubrovnik that most tourists never find – and honestly, that’s exactly why I loved it. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the distant hum of the Old Town during busy summer evenings, but you actually get to sleep without cruise ship crowds wandering past your window at 6 AM.

The apartment itself feels like staying at a Croatian friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. The owner, Marija, clearly knows her stuff – she’s got these thoughtful touches everywhere, like proper coffee (not that instant nonsense), local olive oil in the kitchen, and windows that actually open wide enough to let in those gorgeous Adriatic breezes. The sea views aren’t dramatic postcard stuff, but you get these lovely glimpses of blue between the red-tiled roofs, especially from the little balcony where I found myself having morning coffee way too often. The whole place just feels… lived-in, you know? Like someone actually cares about the details.

Here’s what really sold me though – Marija knows Dubrovnik like the back of her hand and isn’t shy about sharing. She pointed me toward this tiny bakery on Ul. od Sigurate that locals hit up for fresh bread (way better than the tourist traps), and gave me the real story about when to visit Lokrum Island (early morning or late afternoon, trust me on this). The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it. You’re a pleasant 10-minute walk from Pile Gate, but you’re staying in an actual neighborhood where you’ll see the same faces at the corner market. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the walls – there’s usually street parking within a block or two, which in Dubrovnik is basically winning the lottery. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not fancy in that marble-and-gold way, but everything works perfectly and Marija genuinely wants you to love her city as much as she does. If you’re the type who’d rather discover a place than just photograph it, this is your spot.

  – The location is good. Just a few steps from the apartment, you’re treated to a stunning view of Dubrovnik’s iconic Franjo Tuđman Bridge, as shown in the attached photo.

  The house is so pretty and well equipped with all you need for daily routine.
  Location is pretty good, 10min walking to arrive at the closest beach.
  But it’s not close to supermarket, which makes it a bit inconvenient to buy groceries if you don’t travel with a car.
  Rather than that, all is great.
  Host ist super supportive and accommodation is top! Will definitely come back if i visit Dubrovnik next time!
  
  What could be improved: The AC upstairs is outside the room so you have no choice but to open the door and sleep. Or else it’s gonna be a bit hot at night.

  Everything was spotless, stunning interior. Used the washing machine and they provided a drying rack, pegs & washing tablets etc. they also provided water & juice in the fridge for arrival.
  
  What could be improved: The air con downstairs was warmer than upstairs but even with doors open at night it didn’t seem to circulate well into the room!

  Beautifully spacious, super clean, excellent facilities that make the difference and lessen your luggage iron, hairdryers, towels. Well stocked kitchen utensils, plus dishwasher, air con.
  Seashell Cottage is attractive, comfortable and contemporary.
  Comfortable beds.
  Spectacular scenery.
  We were all delighted with our accommodation!
  
  What could be improved: Can't think of anything. Oh, make sure you go to Sunset Beach via the beginning of the beautiful promenade not the many steps descending down. A lot easier.
