You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Apartment St.Jacob on Ulica Vlaha Bukovca – honestly, the street name alone had me worried about pronunciation issues with locals. But this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. It’s tucked into the Ploce area, which I’ll tell you right now is where you want to be if you’re doing Dubrovnik properly. You’re close enough to the Old Town that you can actually walk there (about 10 minutes if you don’t get distracted by the views), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship chaos that hits the main tourist areas every morning around 9 AM.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s this lived-in comfort that you just don’t get at those big chain places down by the harbor. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need: proper blackout curtains (trust me, summer sunrises come early here), a kitchen that’s actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street, and – this is huge – really solid Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works, not the sad trickle you sometimes get in older European buildings. I mean, the water pressure was honestly better than my apartment back home.
What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone’s paying attention. There’s local coffee in the kitchen (not that generic hotel stuff), the windows open wide enough to actually catch the sea breeze in the evenings, and the bed is firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow. The location on Vlaha Bukovca puts you right in a real neighborhood – you’ll hear church bells in the morning instead of tour buses, and there’s this tiny bakery about three blocks down that locals actually use. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (most spots are pretty tight), but there’s usually something available on the side streets if you’re patient. The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or trying to impress anyone, it just does everything right without any fuss. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly for those sunset walks along the coast, which is really why you came to Croatia in the first place, right?

Excellente expérience et emplacement ! Entre la vieille ville et la plus belle plage de Dubrovnik ( Saint Jacobs), un appartement extrêmement bien équipé, lumineux et confortable! Des hôtes très sympathiques et accueillant ! Tout se fait à pied à moins de 10 min!

Rewelacyjne miejsce do spędzenia urlopu - pokoje z widokiem na morze. Świetna lokalizacja, wszędzie można dojść spacerkiem (plaża, stare miasto). Mieszkanie przestronne, wygodne i posiadające wszystkie potrzebne udogodnienia. Kuchnia świetnie wyposażona, pyszna kawa w ekspresie, wino na powitanie:)
Obsługa profesjonalna i bardzo pomocna, ponadto świetny kontakt przez WhatsApp.

This apartment is very spacious and extremely well-equipped. The views from the window of the Old Town and Lokrum island are wonderful! Marko the host is amazing - always available to help with anything!

La ubicacion muy buena a 15 m andando a la parte vieja de Dubronick.Unas vistas estupendas desde las ventanas del salón.A la parte vieja y al mar.
What could be improved: No me gusto que había muchas escaleras para subir al piso pero el anfitrión que era muy amable nos subio las maletas y tambien nos llevo al aeropuerto cuando nos fuimos y también nos bajó las maletas.Para personas con movilidad reducida no lo recomiendo.Hay que estar en forma.
Сподобалися апартаменти , добре обладнана кухня, багато посуду, на всі випадки приготування є посуд.
Кавомашина просто супер, була дуже в потребі. Постіль, рушники, гаряча вода все на любу потребу . Є пральна машина, за 10 днів, скористались, кондиціонер працював добре, телевізор з потребою інтернету теж все з задоволенням користувались.
Господарі ввічливі, пояснили про розташування пляжу, магазинів і т.д.
Меблі всі сучасні.

The apartment is spacious with a beautiful view facing the old town and the harbour. From your window you can see cruise ships passing by everyday. The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable. The old town and the beach are within walking distance.

The view from this top floor apartment is spectacular! The apartment felt like a home away from home. Marko, the host, met us upon arrival and helped us carry our luggage upstairs. The apartment was clean, modern, it had a lovely little kitchen and again, the views were amazing! It was in a perfect location, only a ten minute walk to the Old Town and a ten minute walk to the gorgeous St Jacobs beach. We would happily stay there again.
What could be improved: There was nothing we didn’t like about this apartment. There were many steps to go up with our luggage which was a little difficult however the payoff were the spectacular views!
Best location in Dubrovnik between 2 beaches. Makro is a greate host, helpfool and caring. Charming view from the windows. Very beautiful road from the appartment to the city center. We liked it very much!
