You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Uvala 64? The moment I walked up Ulica Mata Vodopića, I realized I’d stumbled onto something the guidebooks don’t really prepare you for. This isn’t your typical Dubrovnik tourist trap – it’s tucked into Lapad, which honestly feels like where actual people live when they’re not posing for Instagram shots against medieval walls.

The apartment itself is refreshingly straightforward. I mean, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or champagne service, but there’s something genuinely comfortable about it. The rooms have that lived-in feeling without being worn down, if that makes sense. What really sold me was stepping onto the balcony in the morning – you get this partial sea view that’s not dramatic enough for postcards but perfect for your morning coffee. The whole Lapad peninsula spreads out below you, and you can actually hear the waves from Uvala Bay (that’s the “uvala” in the name, by the way – it means “bay” in Croatian).

Here’s the thing about staying in Lapad that took me a while to appreciate: you’re about a 20-minute bus ride from Old Town, but honestly? That distance becomes a blessing by day three. While everyone else is fighting crowds on the Stradun, you can walk five minutes to the Hotel Kompas area where there are actual beaches – not just rocky coastline – and restaurants where locals eat. The 6 bus runs regularly into the city center, and the stop is practically outside your door. Parking around here is actually manageable too, which anyone who’s tried to drive in Dubrovnik will tell you is basically a miracle. The apartment scored a 9.4 rating, and after spending a week there, I get it. It’s not fancy, but everything works, the wifi is solid, and the owner clearly cares about details. The kitchen has everything you need for actual cooking (not just a mini-fridge and hopes), which saved me a fortune since Dubrovnik restaurants can absolutely destroy your budget. Plus, there’s a Konzum grocery store within walking distance – super convenient for grabbing breakfast stuff or that Croatian beer you’ll definitely develop a taste for.

  This a great modern apartment in beautiful Lapad. I would recommend this area next to a strip of restaurants and short Uber ride to Old Town. Just walk a short distance to the Hotel More cave bar/restaurant i highly recommend it. Everything you need is here and if have any questions Vlaho our host was always available.
  
  What could be improved: To be very picky all i would say is second bedrooms beds are on smaller side.

  Lovely, modern, clean apartment in the centre of everything. Host was very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend for people to stay if they want a cosy and homely place to stay.

Each room was stylishly and comfortably furnished, making us feel right at home. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed during our vacation – from a fully equipped kitchen, to comfortable beds, and a modern bathroom.
  The owner of the apartment was incredibly helpful and courteous!
  The location of the apartment was perfect – right next to the best restaurants offering a variety of local and international dishes. This was a huge convenience, as we could enjoy delicious meals every evening without needing to travel far.
  We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated accommodation with excellent service and an ideal location.

  The apartment was everything we were looking for for our stay in Dubrovnik: location, proximity of the bus, stores, beach, restaurants. It feels like home and it is as nice or even nicer than it looks like in the pictures. The area is very calm. Vlaho is very responsive and caring host. If coming again to Dubrovnik, we would choose this apartment again.

  Very nice and clean apartment with everyone you need and more. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.
  The apartment was vert clean and is very well equipped. Small details such as coffee machine with coffee pods, salt and pepper, hair drier, washing up liquid, dishwasher and laundry detergent etc was provided which makes such a difference.
  The location is excellent near a very nice beach, many restaurants and a supermarket across the street. The natural beauty of the bay is stunning.
  
  What could be improved: In the smaller bedrooms the window opens across the beds which is not ideal.
  No bedside light and no electric outlet by the bed in the midsized bedroom.
  Difficult to get in and out of the bathtub when taking a shower in one of the bathrooms.

  Wonderful experience! We were traveling with an infant and it was so pleasant to stay in such clean, comfortable and spacious flat. Perfect location, close to beach, supermarket, restaurants. Baby crib was available, parking, extra towels, coffee…etc. Big thanks to Vlaho for his hospitality and making our stay so nice. Only good memories for our first trip with a baby!!!
