Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Apartments Arla Exclusive honestly surprised me in the best way. When you first walk into this superior studio in Lapad, there’s this immediate sense of “okay, someone actually thought about what travelers need” – not just threw together some IKEA furniture and called it a day. The space feels bigger than most hotel rooms you’d get for the price, and that balcony? I mean, it’s not overlooking the Old Town walls or anything, but you get these glimpses of the Adriatic between the buildings that make your morning coffee ritual actually worth waking up for.

What really won me over was how they’ve set up the studio layout – everything flows without feeling cramped, which is honestly rare in European apartments. The kitchen area is actually functional (you know what I mean if you’ve ever tried to cook pasta on a hot plate), and the bathroom has proper water pressure, which… well, anyone who’s traveled the Balkans will appreciate that detail. The whole place has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile – there’s actual personality in the design choices. And here’s something you might not think about until you’re there: the balcony gets morning sun but stays cool in the afternoons, so you’re not roasting when you want to sit outside with a book.

Lapad itself is where a lot of locals actually prefer to stay when they have friends visiting – it’s about a 15-minute bus ride to the Old Town, but you’re away from the cruise ship crowds and those tourist trap restaurants. There’s this great little konoba called Dubrovnik just down the street that serves the kind of seafood risotto locals argue about, and the Lapad beach is walkable when you need a break from sightseeing. The apartment’s location puts you close enough to everything without being in the thick of the summer chaos – I could actually sleep with the windows open, which is something you definitely can’t do if you’re staying inside the city walls. Honestly, for a 4-star place with a 9 rating, I expected good things, but this felt more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a rental. The kind of place where you start planning your next Dubrovnik trip before you’ve even checked out.

  What could be improved: The check-in was a little difficult, because I couldn't contact the host through Booking, the apartment wasn't really clean and there was only a half toilet paper available, so I had to buy it for my staying
