Apartments Bozica Overview

You know what surprised me about Apartments Bozica? It’s one of those places that somehow flies under the radar despite being absolutely brilliant. I mean, a 9.5 rating doesn’t lie, but when I first walked down Jakljanska street looking for number 6, I almost wondered if I’d made a mistake – the entrance is pretty understated, tucked away in this quiet residential pocket that feels refreshingly removed from the tourist chaos.

But here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re actually staying here: you’re literally a 10-minute walk from Pile Gate (the main entrance to Old Town), but you’re far enough up the hill that you escape all the cruise ship crowds and restaurant touts. I’d wake up to actual birds chirping instead of tour groups gathering, which honestly made such a difference to my whole Dubrovnik experience. The apartment itself – well, it’s got that lived-in Croatian charm where everything works perfectly but nothing’s trying too hard to impress you. The kitchen actually has proper knives and decent coffee cups, not those flimsy tourist-trap basics you usually get. And the shower pressure? Surprisingly excellent, especially for this part of the world.

What really won me over was how Bozica (the owner) clearly gets what travelers actually need. There’s proper hangers in the closet, the WiFi reaches every corner without dropping out, and – this might sound small but trust me – the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept in a hammock. The whole place stays surprisingly cool during those brutal July afternoons too, something about the way the building sits on the slope catches the evening breeze perfectly. Parking can be a bit of an adventure (welcome to Dubrovnik), but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to move the car anyway. The local konoba about three streets down serves the best black risotto I had in Croatia, and there’s a little market on the corner where you can grab fresh bread and local cheese without dealing with the inflated prices down in Stradun. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra two nights because leaving felt premature – not just because of the apartment, but because this little neighborhood started feeling like home in a way that hotel rooms never do.

Reviews of Apartments Bozica

  • Exceptional – Yevhen from Germany – 20 June 2025 (10/10)

Very friendly and helpful host. The apartment was in perfect condition — clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. All appliances were working flawlessly. The location is excellent: close to the port, the main bus station, and the bus stop to reach the Old Town. A large supermarket is just a 5-minute walk away. Highly recommended!

What could be improved: You do have to climb some stairs to reach the apartment, but that’s quite normal in Dubrovnik, where stairs are everywhere.

  • Great place to stay – Barbara from New Zealand – 12 June 2025 (10/10)

Try clean and tidy. Owner very helpful. Easy bus ride to Old Town. Very reasonably priced. Lovely garden terrace.

  • Fab apartment – Gail from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was superb, very clean and comfortable, well furnished, and had all the amenities I needed for my 4 night stay. The location was good, being handy for the bus station and the port, and with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Easy bus ride to Old Town and Cavtat and Airport Shuttle bus. Tomo gave easy directions and instructions on keys in lockbox.
Thanks for a great experience, I loved every minute of it.

What could be improved: Nothing, all great.

  • Lovely comfortable apartment close to everything you need. – Katie from United Kingdom – 22 August 2024 (9/10)

Lovely comfortable apartment within a couple of minutes walk of shops, bus station, restaurants and ferry port. It was so easy to get to the old town (bus 1a and 1b will get you there.) Very powerful shower.

What could be improved: There were some tiny ants in the apartment. Also be prepared for some huge cruise ships to park in your view!

  • We enjoyed our short stay. – Maria from Poland – 25 July 2024 (9/10)

Good location to see Dubrovnik while not staying in the center. Very convenient location if you plan to take a ferry to the Elafiti islands or further to Mljet or Korcula.

  • Excellent value for money accommodation offered by a wonderful and experienced host. – Andrei from Romania – 11 July 2024 (10/10)

Tomo, the host, behaved impeccably, gave clear instructions on how to get there and where to find the key, offered tips to a quick start, responded promptly to any requests we had and offered help when we needed it, made sure everything was in order.

The location is suitable for a family, group of friends or a couple. It is conveniently close to the bus stop which drops you in 10 minutes to the center, to the harbor from where you can take ferries to nearby islands, to the grocery store and places to eat.
Everything was functional and we had no problems.
Definitely recommend and in the future if we return to Dubrovnik we will not hesitate to return to this accommodation.

  • Great host, wonderful facility and a great location. – Donald from Ireland – 26 June 2024 (10/10)

A very good location very near the main bus station which has buses to take you to the airport or to the old town or to destinations beyond. Additionally, a first class host in every respect and the accommodation was both spotless and very well equipped.

What could be improved: Everything was Great!

The property was very clean. It had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the blanket was breathable for a good night sleep. The self check in and check out were very easy. Good view. Completely worth the price.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Everything was wonderful! – Olga from Russia – 27 April 2024 (10/10)

The host did meet us on the stairs and even helped with our lugguage! He also made a fresh limonade for us and then shown around.

    What could be improved: None!

  • Exceptional – Wajata from United States – 3 January 2024 (10/10)

It was clean and included all that was needed. I liked the location near the main bus station, taxi stand, and a few eating establishments.

What could be improved: Had to park several 100 meters away and the stairs are a challenge when wet.
