Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartments by the sea Dubrovnik – 18908” I thought it was going to be one of those generic apartment blocks you find everywhere along the Croatian coast. But you know what? I was completely wrong, and I’m actually pretty glad I ended up here instead of one of those overpriced Old Town hotels.
The location is what really makes this place work. You’re literally steps from the water – I mean, you can hear the waves from your window, which is something I didn’t expect from a 3-star place. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious (Croatian standards, anyway), and honestly, after spending days wandering around Dubrovnik’s narrow stone streets, having room to actually spread out your stuff feels like luxury. The kitchenette situation is pretty decent too – nothing fancy, but functional enough that you can make coffee in the morning without hunting down a café. And trust me, after you’ve paid €4 for espresso in the Old Town a few times, you’ll appreciate having that option.
What I really love about staying here is that you’re close enough to walk to all the main sights, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds every time you step outside. The walk to Pile Gate takes maybe 15 minutes along the coast – actually a pretty nice stroll, especially in the early morning or evening when the light hits the city walls just right. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during peak season (well, parking anywhere in Dubrovnik is a nightmare), but the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real advice about where to find spots, not just vague directions.
The perfect 10 rating might seem too good to be true, but honestly? For what you’re getting at this price point, it makes sense. The owners clearly put effort into maintaining the place – everything feels clean and well-kept, which isn’t always a given with seaside apartments. The Wi-Fi actually works (crucial for those Instagram shots of the sunset), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which… well, if you’ve stayed in budget places along the Adriatic, you know that’s not guaranteed. I also appreciated that check-in was straightforward – no drama, no hidden fees, just keys and helpful suggestions about the best bakery nearby (it’s the one with the blue awning, by the way).
The only thing I’d mention is that if you’re expecting resort-style amenities, this isn’t that kind of place. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring Dubrovnik without paying Old Town prices, and you actually want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than a tourist factory, this works really well. Plus, there’s something nice about falling asleep to the sound of the sea instead of late-night revelers stumbling over cobblestones.

If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, this place is perfect. The location is wonderfully quiet, providing a serene atmosphere that’s ideal for unwinding. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel at home. Their warm hospitality truly enhances the experience. One of the best features is its proximity to the bus station, making it convenient for travelers without a car or those wanting easy access to public transportation. Despite being so accessible, it still maintains a peaceful, secluded vibe. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely visit again. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a quiet retreat with friendly hosts and great convenience!
