You know what struck me first about Apartments Dia? The fact that it’s tucked away in this residential pocket of Dubrovnik where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, everyone talks about staying in the Old Town, but honestly – after spending a day dodging cruise ship crowds, you’ll appreciate coming back to a place where the only sounds at night are the occasional car and maybe some local kids playing football in the street below.
The apartments themselves are exactly what you’d want after a long day of walking those marble streets (and trust me, your feet will thank you for choosing a place with actual space to stretch out). The owner, this lovely Croatian woman whose English is way better than my Croatian, actually lives nearby and responds to messages almost immediately – which saved me when I couldn’t figure out the shower controls on my first night. The kitchenette is small but functional, and there’s something oddly satisfying about making your morning coffee while looking out at the Adriatic in the distance. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to upload those sunset photos from the city walls without waiting forever.
What really makes this place work is the location – it’s about a 15-minute walk to Pile Gate, which sounds far until you realize you’re avoiding the tourist chaos but still close enough to pop back for an afternoon nap. There’s this little bakery maybe three blocks away where locals actually go for their morning bread, and the woman behind the counter started recognizing me by day three. The 384 bus stops practically at the corner if you want to hit the beaches in Cavtat, and parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the walls. I stayed in September and the place was quiet – not dead quiet, just normal-neighborhood quiet where you can sleep with the windows open. The apartment gets great morning light, though it can get warm in the afternoon if you don’t close the shutters. One tiny thing – the shower pressure is decent but not amazing, and the bed is on the firmer side if that matters to you. But honestly, with a 9.6 rating, there’s a reason people keep coming back here. Sometimes the best travel experiences aren’t about luxury amenities or prime locations – they’re about finding that sweet spot where you feel like you’re living somewhere, not just visiting.

This property is a Croatian paradise that you will remember forever! The property was beautiful and felt like you were staying in paradise! I loved the private access to the water for people staying on the property and the beautiful garden and fruit trees you could pick from. There were pet turtles in the garden that were so cute to watch!! The hosts were some of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. We arrived late on our first night and the hosts gave us charcuterie and homemade treats because there was no where we could easily get food at that time of night. They were so welcoming and really wonderful to welcome guests into their private paradise. I cannot recommend staying here enough!

Exceptional Vrbica is a bit further from the center of Dubrovnik and sometimes it is a bit difficult to reach but the views make it all worth it. We even had our own spot near the Adriatic sea, the place is calm and quiet. We had a terrace, where we could have a meal or a nice cup of coffee, with wonderful view to the sea and a sunset. The hostess was very helpful and kind, we were greeted with a baked pie and a liqueur. Which were absolutely delicious. In the house there is everything you might need, a little kitchenette, microwave, kettle, 2 places to sleep, bathroom with shower, hairdryer. Definitely recommend.
What could be improved: The commute to tbe city is a bit tough.

Superb Our stay was perfect for a beach holiday, the views were lovely and the sea was easily accessible and only a few steps away. The owners were very hospitable and friendly during our stay, offering us food and always very chatty. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with outdoor seating perfect for sitting outside in the evening. Also have really cute pet tortoises. Room was perfect size for two with bed being spacious and extremely comfortable. AC is also really good
