You know what struck me first about Apartments Dubrovnik Lapad? The location on Iva Dulcica is actually perfect – I mean, you’re in Lapad Bay but tucked away from the main tourist drag along Šetalište Kralja Zvonimira. It’s this quiet residential street where you can actually hear yourself think, which honestly surprised me given how close you are to everything that matters.

The apartments themselves have that authentic Croatian feel without being stuffy about it. They’re clean, properly equipped (the kitchenettes actually work, unlike some places I’ve stayed), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine – trust me, that matters when you’re trying to sleep after a long day exploring the Old Town. The owners clearly know what travelers need because there’s proper Wi-Fi, decent water pressure, and – this is key – they don’t nickel and dime you for basic stuff. What really sold me though was how easy it is to live like a local from here. There’s a small market just around the corner where you can grab fresh bread and those amazing Croatian tomatoes, and the Lapad market is maybe a five-minute walk if you want to do some real shopping. The beach at Lapad Bay is close enough that you can pop down for a quick swim before breakfast, and honestly, it’s so much more relaxed than the crowded spots closer to the Old Town.

Here’s the thing about staying in Lapad – you get the best of both worlds. The bus to Dubrovnik’s historic center runs regularly and takes maybe fifteen minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re away from all the cruise ship chaos. You can actually sit outside at one of the nearby cafés without fighting for a table. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where families are hanging laundry and kids are playing in the streets, which I found way more charming than the postcard-perfect but slightly sterile hotel zones. Parking isn’t a nightmare here either – well, it’s still Croatia in summer so it’s not exactly easy, but it’s manageable. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of nightlife, you’ll want to plan your late-night returns since the buses don’t run all night. But honestly, after walking around Dubrovnik’s stone streets all day, I was usually happy to grab a bottle of wine and sit on the little balcony anyway. The whole setup just works – it’s unpretentious, reasonably priced, and gives you that authentic Croatian experience without sacrificing comfort.

  Location is perfect as it is a 5 minute bus ride to Old Town. Lapad itself you have a promenade with bars and restaurants and the Cave Bar is a short walk. Beautiful views to be seen.
  Fantastic value for this apartment.
  Bus stop is right beside the apartment on both sides. Apartment was very clean with beautiful view from balcony.
  Hosts Romana and her husband were more than helpful if we needed anything. They were always readily available and extremely helpful.
  
  What could be improved: There was no fresh towels provided. The towels you had on the first day were what you had for the entire trip.
