I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Apartments Fortuna Dubrovnik on Radnička ulica – it’s this quiet residential street that most tourists never even notice, tucked away from the chaos of the Old Town. But honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place work so well. You’re literally a ten-minute walk from Pile Gate (the main entrance to the old city), but you’re staying where actual Dubrovnik residents live and work, which means you get to see the city beyond the Game of Thrones tours and overpriced restaurants.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, we’re talking about a 4-star place that actually feels like it deserves those stars. The owners clearly put thought into the details: proper blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when the Croatian summer sun hits at 5:30 AM), decent water pressure in the showers, and kitchenettes that are actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street. The building itself is modern but not flashy, and here’s something most places don’t mention – the soundproofing is actually pretty good. Radnička can get a bit busy during rush hour, but once you’re inside, it’s genuinely quiet. I’ve stayed in “luxury” hotels in Dubrovnik’s old town where you can hear every conversation from the street below, so this was refreshing.
What really sold me on Fortuna was the little things that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. The check-in process was smooth (they’re flexible with timing, which matters when you’re dealing with Croatian bus schedules), and the staff knows the neighborhood – they’ll point you toward the best bakery for morning coffee or tell you which bus route actually works for getting to Lapad beach. The location is honestly perfect if you’re planning to explore beyond just the old city walls. You’re close enough to walk to Dubrovnik’s main attractions, but you’re also near the bus stops that’ll take you to places like Cavtat or the Elafiti Islands. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the tourist center – there’s street parking that locals use, and it doesn’t cost a fortune. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it gets all the fundamentals right and then some. If you want to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re trapped in a tourist bubble, this is probably your best bet.

I have had a great stay! The room was very clean and nicely furnished, equipped with everything we needed. The summer kitchen included tea, coffee, and even an ice maker, which was a great touch. The pool area was lovely, and the garden felt like a beautiful botanical oasis—perfect for relaxing

Das Apartment überzeugt durch seine ruhige Lage, und dennoch erreicht man die Altstadt bequem in nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Die stilvoll eingerichteten Zimmer strahlen eine besondere Atmosphäre aus und laden zum Wohlfühlen ein. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die kleine, charmante Gemeinschaftsküche im Außenbereich sowie der gepflegte Pool – perfekt zum Entspannen. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

The area around the property is good—peaceful with a lovely garden and many dining options nearby. The bus stop is just a 4–5 minute walk, making it easy to get around. The room was comfortable and clean. The host was very helpful and responsive.
What could be improved: The pool was unfortunately not open during our stay, the bathroom was quite small, and the property is about a 35-minute walk to the city center—though it's only a 10-minute ride by bus.

The bed was super comfy, the place was clean and welcoming. Excellent security and easy check in.
What could be improved: The pool hours are not posted in the ad. It was closed when I arrived and not open in the morning until after checkout
Even off-season, this property impresses with its beautifully maintained garden and pool. The prime location near Dubrovnik’s harbor and Old Town offers easy access to sights, while included parking at a nearby hotel is a major plus. Ideal for both relaxation and exploration—highly recommended!
Everything was absolutely perfect! The apartments were gorgeous, clean, and exactly as described. The location was excellent, and the host was very welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely book again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
