Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartments Lucia? The location is absolutely killer – I mean, you’re literally on Peline Street, which honestly feels like stepping into a medieval movie set every single morning. The building itself has that weathered Dubrovnik stone that’s been there for centuries, and when you wake up and push open those traditional wooden shutters, you’re looking out at actual ancient walls and terracotta rooftops instead of some generic hotel courtyard.
What really gets me about this place is how it nails that sweet spot between being right in the thick of Old Town without the tourist circus happening directly under your window. Peline runs parallel to the main Stradun pedestrian street, so you’re maybe a two-minute walk from all the action – the morning markets, those little konoba restaurants where locals actually eat, the city walls entrance – but you can still sleep at night without drunk cruise passengers stumbling past at 2 AM. The owner, Lucia (yeah, it’s actually her name), clearly knows her stuff about what travelers need. The apartments aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out with proper kitchen setups, not those sad mini-fridges and two-burner situations you usually get. I actually cooked a few meals with stuff from the Gundulićeva market, which is like a five-minute walk down some charming stepped streets.
Here’s the thing about staying in Old Town that most people don’t realize until they’re dragging their suitcases over cobblestones – you can’t drive here. But Lucia’s got this whole system figured out where they’ll meet you at the Pile Gate (the main entrance) and help with your bags. Small detail, but honestly a lifesaver when you’re dealing with those smooth stone streets that turn into ice rinks if there’s even a hint of moisture. The apartment I stayed in had these thick stone walls that keep everything cool during the day – crucial in summer when Dubrovnik turns into an oven – and the bathroom was surprisingly modern without feeling out of place. You’ve still got that old-world charm with exposed beams and original details, but the wifi actually works and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a dying helicopter.
The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but it’s authentic and incredibly well-run. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something magical about having your morning coffee on a balcony overlooking the same streets where Game of Thrones filmed all those King’s Landing scenes. You’ll recognize corners and doorways constantly – it’s like staying inside a TV show, except the locals are friendly and the food is way better than anything they had in Westeros.

Location is fantastic, right near the Dubrovnik old Wall but an easy walk down to the main area. Also has a fabulous restaurant. Next door room is very clean. Host was very welcoming and gave us all the information that we needed.

Comfortable apartment in the old city centre of Dubrovnik, near the north gate. The second floor has astonishing views of the city. Highly recommended
Lucia was the best hostess ever! Gave us a lot of recommendations for visiting and places for eating.
In addition the apartment is next to a great restaurant (lady pi pi).
What could be improved: The apartment is on the upper side of the old town so be aware of the stairs to go to the Main Street.Kelly from Canada – 17 September 2023 (10/10)

Host was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Apartment is clean and has what you need to make your own breakfast if you wish . Nice private courtyard. A/C was good. 5-10 minutes walk from where the airport shuttle drops you off .
What could be improved: No toaster.Justin from United States – 13 August 2023 (10/10)
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely attached large private patio. The kitchen came equipped with an electric teapot and coffee pot along with teabags and coffee. Lucia was very warm and welcoming. She brought a map and gave me a good lay of the land.. AND Lucia shared a sip of a delicious Croatian brandy!

The host was great and flexible with our check in. She gave us tons of information and made sure we were comfortable with everything. It's a large two story apartment in a quiet area of Old Town, with A/C in every room.

Lovely host, met us at the property to hand over the keys and greet us with a drink and a chocolate for our daughter. She told us a few useful tips like where to get best coffee – Buzz Bar! , pizza or restaurant with the discounted price. She also let us keep our luggage at the property after checkout as our flight was in the evening. Very helpful and friendly person.
The apartment is located by the city walls with the most incredible view of the old town and the sea. Easy access to the Buza Gate (5min walk without having to go through the endless steps) where you can get uber/taxi to and from the airport. Very good location for sightseeing.
All useful facility provided at the property but also coffee and some other essentials. Specious kitchen area, downstairs toilet and stairs to the bathroom with a shower facility (slightly small, but good enough for us) , main bedroom (comfortable bed and lots of storage space) and single room with the best view!
We visited Dubrovnik in October and didn't have to use air conditioning.
Relatively quiet location with easy access to the busy part of the old town.
I would definitely recommend for the short or even slightly longer break!
