The building sits on Majkovska ulica, and I mean this in the best way possible, but it doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation” from the outside. It’s got that understated Croatian residential vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals might actually recommend to their friends.
Here’s what I love about this four-star spot — you’re close enough to everything that matters without being right in the thick of the cruise ship crowds. The Old Town walls are totally walkable from here, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and restaurant touts that come with staying inside the historic center. There’s free private parking on site, which honestly might be worth its weight in gold if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere near Dubrovnik’s center. The couples who stay here consistently rate the location a 9.3, and after spending time in the area, I get why — it’s that sweet spot between accessibility and tranquility.
These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — they’re proper apartments with enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. The setup works particularly well if you’re planning to do some of your own cooking (there’s a decent market nearby), or if you just want room to spread out after long days exploring the city walls or taking day trips to the islands. The interiors feel contemporary without trying too hard, and you know what really impressed me? The attention to practical details that apartment-style accommodations sometimes overlook — good lighting, adequate storage, reliable wifi.

You’re also positioned well for exploring beyond the Old Town — the bus connections to places like Cavtat or even the airport are straightforward from this part of the city.

Absolutely stunning apartment. Lovely and clean throughout. The shared kitchen / terrace area with the views were amazing. The pool was lovely and the host was brilliant and informative.
What could be improved: Nothing
The host Marijana was amazing. She gave us tips where to go and what to see, helped with booking local restaurants as well as the bus time table when needed. The view from the property is stunning, even better in person. It is located in a safe neighbourhood and there is a garage parking. And on a plus side the pool was heated :)
This is the best holiday accommodation we've stayed in, both through booking.com and Airbnb. The views are incredible; the apartment was sparklingly clean and kitted out with everything you could need; really comfy bed; nice touches like wine and chocolates on arrival and fresh croissants for breakfast everyday. But the best thing is the host, Marijana, who is so kind and friendly and looks after you without intruding. An amazing place to stay.
What could be improved: There is nothing to dislike about this property.
The view from the balcony was amazing! The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean. The hosts were kind and attentive and we appreciated the fresh croissants every morning!
What could be improved: As others have noted, it is up a hill which of course gives it its wonderful view. This wasn’t a big deal for us, but for others with mobility issues it might be a problem.

We stayed for four nights in this wonderful apartment as a couple and could not fault it. The apartment boasts lots of space in all rooms, but we spent the majority of our stay outside on the balcony, enjoying the views down over the harbour and taking in the sunshine.
The pool area is shared amongst the apartments on the property but we rarely came across others here, so it was a great private space. Uber was no more than €8 to any of the areas in Dubrovnik we travelled but there is a bus stop a few hundred meters away with a bus which operates 7 days a week on a regular schedule. Buy your bus tickets at the main bus station or any of the city kiosks for cheaper rates than onboard. The area itself is not in the Dubrovnik old town that many holiday here to see, which is a treat in itself, as the streets are much quieter and it is just a 15 minute trip away.
The supermarket, restaurants and main bus station were all within walking distance. Marijana the host was so attentive and gave us some great recommendations on places to eat. We arrived late at night and this was accommodated no problem, as well as luggage storage on the day of check out.
What could be improved: We counted over 370 steps from the main street / port to the apartment if you want to travel by foot rather than take a taxi or bus, however, this information was known pre- arrival thanks to other reviews and meant less guilt about all the holiday food.

Marijana is an amazing host. She was so helpful throughout the visit. Marijana and her family are available to help you with anything or provide advice on where to eat. Each morning you are provided with Croissants which is a nice touch.
The photos do not do it justice. The view is incredible and was the best place in Dubrovnik for the sunset.
We stayed here for 5 nights and had an amazing stay! The host was very friendly and helpful with all our questions and even ordered our take away for us! The view from the balcony is amazing and defiantly worth watching the sunset . Ubers are easy/cheap and the bus stop is super close - roughly 15 minutes to the old town. Room was immaculate, and the pool area spotless. We would 100% return and recommend this to anyone!
What could be improved: Needs somewhere to hang towels/wet clothes.
Marijana was an exceptional host and the apartment was exceptional as well, couldn't recommend this stay enough. If you are looking for a place to stay in Dubrovnik, MaKris apartments are perfect!
