Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartments Martha? The moment I walked up to the building on Ludmila Rogovskog, I could actually hear the Adriatic lapping against the shore – and I mean really hear it, not just catch glimpses of blue between other hotels. The whole Lapad peninsula has this relaxed, residential vibe that honestly feels worlds away from the tourist chaos of Old Town, even though you’re only a quick bus ride (or pleasant 20-minute walk along the coastal path) from all those medieval walls everyone comes to see.

Martha – and yes, there’s actually a Martha who runs this place with the kind of attention to detail that makes you wonder why more places don’t operate this way – has created something pretty special here. The apartments themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully modern” without being sterile. Mine had this little balcony that caught the morning sun perfectly, and the kitchen was stocked with everything you’d actually need, not just the bare minimum. What really got me though was how quiet it stays at night. I mean, you’re close enough to hear the gentle sounds of the neighborhood – someone coming home late, a dog barking briefly – but none of that jarring hotel-corridor noise or paper-thin walls you usually deal with.

The location thing is interesting because it’s not immediately obvious why Lapad works so well until you’ve been there a few days. Sure, there’s that gorgeous pebble beach literally a two-minute walk away (locals call it Lapad Beach, and it’s where Dubrovnik families actually go to swim), but what I loved was having that little Konzum grocery store around the corner and a handful of family-run restaurants where you can eat without checking if your wallet’s still breathing afterward. The bus stop is right there when you want to head into the city center, but honestly? Some evenings I’d just grab a bottle of wine and sit on the small terrace, watching the sunset paint everything gold over the water. The 9.5 rating makes perfect sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a flashy resort – it’s just doing everything right in a way that feels effortless. Check-in was smooth, Martha remembered my name the whole stay, and when I needed restaurant recommendations, she pointed me toward places where I ended up being the only obvious tourist. That’s worth something, you know?

  Everything was perfect – the apartment was beautiful and clean, everything was in its place, the host was very kind and pleasant, the parking was available and free, the location is awesome, within walking distance to the Old Town (3.5km – although you go up and down some hills), has two frequent bus lines nearby (4 and 6), some shops, a great pizzeria named Scala, the beach is very close. 10/10 stay, we hope we will come back to this place again! 🙂

  Very nice and clean looks like it is newly made up.
  Supermarket very close to the apartment and on the way there you pass the restarant La Scala which has brilliant food to affordable prices.
  Also close is a beach and a very nice walk path along the seaside.
  Location is excellent close to bus stop and then just a 10min ride to old town.

  The apartment was spacious, comfortable and only 10 minutes by car to Old Town. There was a mini market store and beach at only a few minutes of walking distance. It is located in a quaint little street with lovely gardens in the neighbourhood. The apartment, bathroom and shower were spotless with plenty of fresh towels. The host was polite, professional and some useful advice at check in about the surroundings.
  
  What could be improved: There was a bowl of little sweets thoughtfully left for guests on the small dining table, but unfortunately I spotted lots of tiny little bugs inside it and on the table so I could not use the table to eat.

  Clean, spacious, great parking spot, we had lot of towels and toillet paper, it has a freezer, lotd of coffee, host is very nice

  Fabulous stay. Very clean. Large comfortable bed. Nice to be able to sit outside the apartment on table and chairs provided. We also loved the location. It’s very close to the large supermarket and the beach.

  What could be improved: Carpark a little tight to get in and out of and the property managers looking after this property aren’t super responsive or helpful. The owner itself is lovely though!
