Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartments Midnight City” on the booking site, I was expecting some generic place trying too hard to sound edgy. But actually walking up to 34C Ulica Iva Vojnovića in Lapad, you realize this spot gets it right in all the ways that matter. The building sits quietly on this tree-lined street that most tourists never find, which is honestly part of its charm. You’re still in Lapad – probably the most livable part of Dubrovnik if you ask me – but you’re not dealing with the chaos of Stradun or the cruise ship crowds.

The apartments themselves feel like someone actually lives there, you know? Not that sterile hotel vibe where everything’s bolted down and beige. I mean, it’s a solid 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything, but the kitchenettes are properly equipped (like, they actually have sharp knives and decent pans), and the wifi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like it does in half the places around here. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – good blackout curtains (essential during those bright Adriatic summer mornings), proper shower pressure, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed a night or two.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before my first visit: Lapad peninsula is where Dubrovnik locals actually hang out, especially around Gruž harbor and the main Lapad bay. From Midnight City, you can walk to that gorgeous crescent beach in maybe ten minutes – the one with the promenade where old Croatian guys play chess and kids splash around while their parents drink coffee at the café tables. It’s real life, not a tourist show. The bus connection to Old Town is ridiculously easy too; the stop’s literally a two-minute walk away, and buses run frequently (though they get packed during peak season, fair warning). Parking’s actually manageable in this neighborhood, which… well, if you’ve tried to park anywhere near the old city walls, you’ll understand why that’s kind of a miracle. The whole area gets this lovely evening breeze off the water, and honestly, after spending days dodging selfie sticks in Dubrovnik’s historic center, coming back to this quiet street feels like exhaling. It’s the kind of place where you can grab groceries at the local market, cook dinner while watching the sun set over the Adriatic, and feel like you’re living in Croatia rather than just visiting it.

Reviews

  • A good property to stay with a nice host. – Anas from India – 5 July 2025 (10/10)

The location and the facilities were outstanding.

What could be improved: The Ac was not rightly placed and too small for the room.

  • Exceptional – Paige from United Kingdom – 26 June 2025 (10/10)

    Great facility, well-maintained and spacious.

What could be improved: A little far away from Old Town and the ferry port if you’re planning on going between this.

  • Trip to Dubrovnik September 2024 – Oliver from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (10/10)

A great, knowledgeable and helpful host. Friendly and polite bar staff. The apartment was clean and spacious. Good central location with plenty of amenities within walking distance. The beds were comfortable. The TV had sports channels to watch the football. The bar downstairs had a nice atmosphere and wasn't noisy at all.

What could be improved: N/A. No complaints. Everything was good

  • Exceptional – Mylene from Netherlands – 19 July 2024 (10/10)

We really loved the apartment. We were welcomed by Maro, who showed us the apartment. It has a kitchen, bathroom and balcony. It met our expectations. Again, thank you Maro for the good service!!

  • Superb – Nonino from Brazil – 8 July 2024 (9/10)

We have ben received by Maro, Who waited for us Till late and was super nice and helpful. The apartment is big, confortable and very well equiped.

What could be improved: Matresses a bit to soft. Noise from a night club accross the Street on saturday night.

  • Great place to stay and explore the coast – Cassandra from United States – 4 July 2024 (10/10)

Our host was so accommodating and welcomed us with advice for the city. We were a 30 min walk or ~8 min bus from the old town, and loved exploring Dubrovnik.

  • Very good – Matthew from United States – 20 June 2024 (8/10)

The owner is extremely nice. The apt is roomy and clean. A 25 min walk to old city in one direction and promenade in the other.

What could be improved: There are 3 bar/cafés across the street and on Friday and Saturday night was a bit noisy. Also smell from shower and shower needs fixing so does not flood the floor.

  • Perfect Apartment! – Sara from Spain – 19 June 2024 (10/10)

    Maro is an excepcional person.
    Apartment are perfect!
If we come back we will booking this apartment again.
    Thanks for all Maro!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Great stay – Fernanda from Portugal – 21 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was great. A single room with 2 beds, living room (which included a sofa bed) and kitchen, and a separate bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.

What could be improved: Nothing much, just a few details about the bathroom: it could use some more hangers to hang our clothes or towels, the lock was a little hard to operate, and the shower door was slightly loose. The location is ok, easily accessible from the city center by bus or taxi (it's a little far to walk, and it's uphill), but there's a bit of noise from the multiple bars in the street, although it didn't bother us.

  • Nice stay in Dubrovnik – Harry from Netherlands – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

Maro is very kind and friendly. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. Dubrovnik old town could be reached easily (25 minutes by walk) or by bus. The bus station is situated nearby the apartment and in the neighborhood there is a bakery.

What could be improved: The bathroom did not have hooks to hang the clothes and we missed a mirror outside the bathroom.
