Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and Apartments Milenko is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you cracked some local code. It’s tucked away in Lapad – and I mean properly tucked away, not just marketing speak – which puts you about a 15-minute walk from the main Lapad beach and maybe 20 minutes by bus to the Old Town. The thing is, that distance actually works in your favor because you’re away from the cruise ship crowds but still close enough to everything that matters.
The apartments themselves have this lived-in quality that I really appreciate. They’re not trying to be some Instagram-perfect setup, but everything works and it feels like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The owner, Milenko, seems to genuinely care about the place – you can tell from little things like how the kitchen is actually stocked with useful stuff (decent coffee maker, sharp knives, proper plates) instead of the usual hotel apartment nonsense. The balconies are probably the best feature, honestly. Most of them catch the morning sun, and if you’re lucky enough to get one of the upper units, you’ll have glimpses of the Adriatic through the pine trees. There’s something about having your coffee out there in the morning, listening to the neighborhood wake up, that beats any fancy hotel lobby.
What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re on a quiet residential street – I mean, you might hear some kids playing in the evening, but it’s not party noise or traffic. There’s a small grocery store about three minutes away where the owner will nod at you after your second visit, and the local bus stop is close enough that you don’t need to think about it. The 6 bus runs pretty regularly to Pile Gate, though honestly, I ended up walking along the coastal path half the time because it’s actually prettier than taking the bus. During summer the apartments can get warm – there’s AC but it’s not industrial strength – though the stone walls keep things cooler than you’d expect. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak season, but Milenko usually sorts something out if you ask ahead. The 9.4 rating makes sense to me because this is exactly what you want from a three-star place – no pretense, just solid comfort in a spot that lets you live like a local for a week.

Reviews
Pleasant place to stay – Małgorzata from United Kingdom – 28 May 2024 (9/10)
Apartment was clean with good facilities, kitchen was well equipped, blender and toster were available. Washing machine was a nice touch especially if you stay longer. Not far from a supermarket, 10 minute walk to one of the beaches, 40 minute walk to the Old Town, bus stops nearby.
What could be improved: As it is a ground floor apartment with a marque, it is slightly dark.Exceptional – Daniela from United States – 25 November 2022 (10/10)
the property is a few blocks from the sea and several coffee places and restaurants. The host was so nice and attentive that made me feel extremely comfortable. The apartment had plenty of space and light and is very clean.
