Apartments Minerva Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Apartments Minerva on Antuninska Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages. This little spot sits right in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and I mean literally IN it – you’re maybe a two-minute walk from the Stradun (that’s the main marble street everyone photographs). The building itself has that weathered limestone look that screams “I’ve been here since before your great-grandmother was born,” which honestly just adds to the charm.
What really got me was how quiet it actually is inside, despite being surrounded by all the tourist madness. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler stumbling down the cobblestones, but it’s not like staying right on the main drag where the restaurant crowds linger until midnight. The apartments themselves are… well, they’re practical. Clean, decent-sized for European standards, and the AC actually works (trust me, in July you’ll thank me for checking that detail). The kitchenette situation is pretty solid too – I managed to make coffee and store some of those ridiculously expensive Old Town groceries without any drama. The woman who runs the place, I think her name was Marija, actually gave me the lowdown on where to shop for basics without getting totally ripped off – there’s a little market just outside Pile Gate that locals use.
Here’s what I really appreciated though: the location gives you options. Want to catch the sunrise from the city walls? You can literally roll out of bed and be there in five minutes before the crowds hit. Need to escape the tourist swarms? Duck down toward the old harbor area – it’s a quick walk and suddenly you’re watching fishing boats instead of cruise ship passengers. The only real downside is parking, but honestly, that’s Old Town Dubrovnik for you. You’ll end up using one of the lots outside the walls anyway, so it doesn’t really matter where you stay. What does matter is that after a long day of climbing those walls and dodging selfie sticks, you can retreat to a place that feels authentically Croatian rather than some generic hotel chain. Plus, at an 8/10 rating, clearly I’m not the only one who figured out this little gem works pretty well for the price point.

Very good accommodation, no issues. – Adam from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (8/10)
Very good accommodation, no issues.
Great value in old town – Greg from Canada – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Lovely facilities, great value and centered in the old town
What could be improved: Many people have mentioned the steps. This is old town dubrovnik and you can't avoid steps…but they are brutal. If you have flexibility, would advise coming in from the Buza gate so that you'll be going downhill (more or less) and leave old town via the Ploce gate to be going downhill ( more or less)Convenient and clean – Christine from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (8/10)
Location, clean, kitchen facilities
What could be improved: Pillows were foam chip mountains – I had to use cushions as pillows which is not hygienic.
Kitchen contained salt – no complimentary water bottle or coffee sugar etc basics so for a late arrival after shops had shut, a bit mean.
WiFi dropped in and out but probably not appartamento fault. Generally Dubrovnik has good signal for using Google maps on data.Lovely location and apartment – would love to stay again. – Carolyn from United Kingdom – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
It was very easy and convenient to locate and access the building and apartment. I received easy to follow instructions with full details the day before I travelled so I felt fully prepared with no concerns about accessing my accommodation. The host was very understanding when I had a mix up with the keys and re-entering the building after being out for the day. The self-contained apartment itself was very comfortable and extremely clean. The location was in the heart of the old-town and very handy to restaurants and market shops. I recommend this apartment and would be very happy to return.
What could be improved: This was not a problem for me but I think it's worth being aware of, there are quite a few stairs/steps to climb from the old town main street to access the apartment. If you have only a carry on bag it's not difficult but if you had a large case or additional luggage it could be difficult. The same could apply for people with mobility issues. There are also a few internal stairs to get to the apartment. I didn't count them but but they are not steep and from memory there are only around 4 steps then a landing then another few.Superb – Angelo from United Kingdom – 2 April 2025 (9/10)
Fantastic location. A few steps but that's in style with the place.
What could be improved: All goodConvenient and good value for money in that location! – Pretorius from South Africa – 22 September 2024 (9/10)
Location was excellent, good value for money!
Property is well maintained with everything we needed.Very good – Chris from United Kingdom – 10 September 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was great and the location was good.
What could be improved: The photos did not show quite how far up from the square the apartment is. The steps are very steep and there are alot of them – there were some handrails but if you need to get a case up there you will need to be able bodied and reasonably fit.Superb – Tina from Singapore – 3 June 2024 (9/10)
Nice host.
Right in the Old Town
What could be improved: Beware of the long steep steps up the alley to get to the apartment.Nice apartment with a great location in old town Dubrovnik. – Cormac from Ireland – 29 May 2024 (9/10)
Location is excellent, right off the Main Street of old town Dubrovnik – you just have to climb some steep steps to get there. The apartment is very modern for somewhere in an old city, and it's on a nice quiet street.
What could be improved: It's a bit small, but perfectly fine for 1 or 2 people really. It is quite dark, as it's at the bottom of a tall building on a narrow street, I imagine that helps it stay a bit cooler in Summer though. There's not any view either, just the street outside.Superb – Lily from Australia – 13 November 2023 (9/10)
I loved having my own place after months of hostel life. My bed was huge, I had air con, my own kitchen and bathroom!
What could be improved: The walk up to the property was pretty hard with 2 backpacks and the air con is really loud.
