I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartments Nav on Masarykov put, I thought I’d made a mistake. The building looked pretty ordinary from the street, nothing fancy or resort-like. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t scream “tourist trap” from a mile away.

The location in Lapad is actually brilliant if you know Dubrovnik at all. I mean, everyone talks about staying in Old Town, but honestly, after spending a few days here, I’d pick Lapad every time. It’s got that residential Croatian feel – you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards, smell someone’s grandmother cooking lunch, and the morning coffee ritual at the local café down the street is something to witness. The beach is literally a five-minute walk (and I’m talking about a proper pebble beach, not some tiny hotel strip), and when you want to hit the Old Town for all the Game of Thrones madness, it’s just a quick bus ride or a pleasant 20-minute walk along the coast. The buses run frequently, and the locals are pretty patient with tourists fumbling for change.

What really got me about this place was the attention to detail – stuff you don’t notice until you’ve been traveling for weeks and suddenly appreciate a decent shower with actual water pressure, or a kitchen that’s actually equipped to make real meals instead of just instant noodles. The apartments feel like someone’s well-kept home rather than a sterile hotel room. I loved that the balcony caught the morning sun (perfect for coffee and planning your day), and the evening breeze coming off the Adriatic actually made it comfortable to sit outside even in summer. The WiFi worked consistently – I know, basic requirement these days, but you’d be surprised how many places still mess this up. Parking was straightforward too, which in Dubrovnik is honestly a minor miracle. The owner was around during check-in and gave me some solid local recommendations (the konoba he suggested became my favorite dinner spot), but wasn’t hovering or intrusive. There’s something to be said for hosts who strike that perfect balance between helpful and respectful of your space.

The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be a luxury resort – it’s just doing everything really well. Clean, comfortable, practical, and situated in a part of Dubrovnik where you can actually live a bit like a local instead of being trapped in the tourist bubble. If you’re the type who wants to grab groceries at the local market, take evening walks through quiet neighborhoods, and still be close enough to all the must-see stuff without the crowds outside your door, this is your spot.

  The owner of the apartment was lovely and so welcoming. She provided us with lots of local information and messaged me during our stay to check that everything was good for us. She even left us a little welcome pack of wine, juice, biscuits, and fruit. The local area was beautiful with lots of amenities available and wonderful friendly locals. Would highly recommend.

  Our stay at NAV was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, Jelena, the owner, welcomed us with the warmest hospitality we've ever experienced. She is truly the nicest, most positive person – always available, checking in to see if we needed anything, and going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.
  She even left us a lovely bottle of rosé wine and cookies as a welcome gift – something no other apartment has ever done for us before, and it made us feel so appreciated and at home.
  
  The apartment itself was spotless — honestly the cleanest apartment we've ever stayed in. And it was fully stocked with absolutely everything you could need: kitchen equipment, ice, bathroom essentials – you name it, it was there.
  
  When we had an unexpected issue with our car, Jelena didn't hesitate to help. She immediately called a mechanic who came to fix it and even allowed us to check out later so we could wait comfortably – something that really saved us a lot of stress.
  
  The apartment is also incredibly spacious — it can easily fit up to 10 people or even more without ever feeling crowded. Every room is thoughtfully designed, super comfortable, and there's plenty of space for all your stuff, which made everything feel so organized and relaxed during our stay.
  
  The location was also perfect – a market conveniently located in the building, and the beach just a 2-minute walk away. Everything you could want is right there.
  
  I cannot emphasize enough how incredible this experience was. Jelena is one of the kindest and most helpful hosts we've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and we HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a flawless stay. We will definitely be coming back!

  It’s very homie place. In our busy lives in london we sometimes forget to enjoy home. The apartment made us feel what home is, where you get to enjoy deep conversations with people that really matters to you.

  A sparkling clean, spacious apartment in an ideal location within walking distance to Lapad centre that has lots of lovely restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom needs a shower screen as when having a shower the water goes everywhere onto bathroom floor.
  
  Also TV didn’t work but it was only one day that it was needed because it rained most of the day so would have been useful.

  Robert and Jelena were extremely helpful. The property was perfect for us. We had two apartments for 10 people and it was very comfortable, we had everything we needed and it was in a perfect location. Easy to get around Lapad – lots of restaurants. 15 mins into the old town and very cheap to get an Uber. The accommodation can organise transfers to and from the airport for you also which is really helpful.

  Location was fantastic. Two minutes to the beach, which can be seen from the balcony.

  Underground parking was a big bonus.

  Read some bad Trip Advisor reviews about the beach. Robert video called me before we left to assure us everything was fine, which it was.
