Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartments Ragusa Palace 1 Djardin? The address actually means something here – Zrinsko Frankopanska is one of those streets that puts you right in the thick of things without being on top of the tourist chaos. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Stradun (that’s the main drag through Old Town for anyone who hasn’t been), but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and restaurant hawkers outside your window at 7 AM.
The building itself feels properly Croatian – not some sterile modern box, but not trying too hard to be rustic either. It’s got that solid, lived-in quality that makes you think actual people have been staying here for years, not just passing through for Instagram shots. The apartments are genuinely spacious, which honestly surprised me because most places in Dubrovnik are working with medieval-sized rooms. You’ve got proper counter space in the kitchen (rare!), and the beds are actually comfortable – I’m talking about real mattresses, not those foam things that feel like sleeping on a park bench. The 4-star rating feels accurate; it’s not luxury, but everything works and feels clean without being sterile.
What really sold me on this place was the little things you don’t expect. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no waiting around for someone to show up with keys, no complicated instructions about door codes. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment, which you’d think would be standard in 2024 but trust me, it’s not always the case in Dubrovnik’s stone buildings. And here’s something most people don’t mention – the street noise is minimal. You’re close enough to walk everywhere but far enough from the main restaurant strips that you can actually sleep with windows open in summer. The building stays cool naturally too, which matters when it’s 85 degrees and humid in July.
The whole area has this perfect balance where you feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. There’s a decent market about two blocks away where locals actually shop, and you’ll find yourself walking past the same coffee place every morning where the owner starts to nod at you by day three. That 8.9 rating makes sense when you experience it – people clearly come back here, and after staying a week, I get why. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place where you can settle in and actually experience Dubrovnik rather than just checking it off a list.

The apartment was large, well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The host was extremely responsive, and was very helpful in getting a courier package delivered to me from Italy. Would highly recommend, and would definitely stay there again.
What could be improved: The stairs 😜Mia from Norway – 19 May 2024 (8/10)
Nice and big apartment good location from the Old Town. It took us 10 min to walk down to the centrum.
It had everything we needed and our host Matea was very sweet and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we're coming back to Dubrovnik and can by heart recommend this place to others.
Thanks Matea for making our stay extra wonderful.

Alison from United Kingdom – 29 September 2023 (9/10)
The location is perfect for a stay in Dubrovnik, very close to the old town and bus station for further trips. There are many excellent restaurants within walking distance. There is a small supermarket and bakery close by.
What could be improved: Dubrovnik is a city of steps and there are many many steps everywhere. There are quite a few steps up to the apartment, but this is by no means unusual for Dubrovnik.Michelle from United Kingdom – 25 August 2022 (8/10)
The apartment was clean and nicely furnished with comfortable beds. It was centrally located for the Old Town.
Peter from Finland – 5 July 2022 (8/10)

Beautiful & cozy apatment. great beds. quiet.
What could be improved: There are around 400 steps to old town (main gate) from the apt. if you take a taxi there are around 70 steps from the road to apt. So it's not suitible to all guests.
Only 1 set of keys for 4 guests.
