Hotel Description
You know what really got me about Apartments Ranieri Kono? Walking up to this place on Privežna Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that most tourists never see. But that’s actually the genius of it. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from all the Old Town madness, but when you close your door at night, it’s dead quiet. No drunk cruise ship passengers stumbling around at 2 AM, which – trust me – is worth its weight in gold during summer season.
The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish Croatian grandmother got a modern makeover. I stayed in one of the larger units, and honestly, the kitchen was better equipped than my place back home. There’s this gorgeous stone work throughout that feels authentically Dalmatian, not some fake “Mediterranean theme” you get at chain hotels. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – decent Wi-Fi (which worked perfectly, even when I was video calling), proper blackout curtains, and get this – a washing machine that actually works. Small thing, but after a week of hiking around Lokrum Island and sweating through Dubrovnik’s summer heat, being able to do laundry was a lifesaver.
What really sets this place apart is the location strategy. See, most people obsess over being right inside the city walls, but they don’t realize how claustrophobic and overpriced that gets. From Privežna, you can walk to Banje Beach in about 15 minutes, hit up the local konoba (that’s a traditional tavern) that serves better seafood than those tourist traps near Stradun, and still catch the sunset from the city walls without paying hotel prices. The neighborhood has this authentic residential vibe – you’ll see locals hanging laundry and old guys playing chess in the small park nearby. There’s even a little bakery around the corner where you can grab fresh burek for breakfast, though fair warning, they close by 10 AM so don’t sleep in too late.
The 9.3 rating makes total sense when you experience it. It’s one of those places where every detail works without being fussy about it. The check-in was smooth (they actually waited for my delayed flight), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and the beds are properly firm – none of that squishy hotel mattress nonsense. I mean, for a 4-star place, it punches way above its weight class. My only tiny complaint? The shower pressure could be stronger, but honestly, after walking around Dubrovnik’s marble streets all day, you’re just grateful to get clean. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic local experience and actual comfort, this is it.

The parking at Dubrovnik is a little tricky, the host is very patient and give us very detailed instructions and even met us personally at the gate to direct us to the spot reserved for us, very grateful for it and introduced the facility and apartment and how to get around to the old town and nearby restaurants

It’s was a present surprise to find such a beautiful apartment in Dubrovnik. The view from apartment was bred taken. Communication with the Elisa was more than expected . She wait for us. She explained to us. Everything. Give us a lot of tips how to get to Dubrovnik where to buy food for a cheap price. Apartment in Dubrovnik was big and beautiful. You will find in the kitchen everything you need even toaster in microwave. Mattress and pillow was very comfortable..
Dubrovnik it’s up and down :)) 15-20 minutes of steps to go down to old city In Dubrovnik. If you’re in good shape, you can go up the same way if not, take a Uber or Taxi very cheap. Proximate 7 Euro go up to apartment from old city.
What ever we need Elisa answer our messages right away. One of the best properties we rent in our trips.
Thanks you again

We had a lovely stay here, the views from the apartment are fantastic, the apartment was really well finished and worth the hike up the hill from the old town. Elisa was such a wonderful host – getting in touch before we arrived with information, greeting us on arrival and providing some useful supplies. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend. Thank you!

Convenient location right off the main road. Apartments were spacious and well decorated. Hostess gave great directions and a video on how to reach the property. Would definitely return.
What could be improved: Beds were a little firm, but that’s a personal preference.Rachel from United States – 22 September 2024 (10/10)

Our host Elisa was the best. She was kind, attentive and informative. Couldn’t have asked for more. The property was clean and comfortable with an exceptional view of the sea. Walking distance to old town, about 15 minutes (a bit longer on the return) or, easy access by Uber or bus. Parking was not an issue as we were provided a private parking area for our rental car.
