You know what’s funny about Dubrovnik? Everyone obsesses over finding a place inside the Old Town walls, but then they don’t realize how tricky it actually gets with all those ancient stone steps and narrow alleys. Well, Apartments & Rooms Perla sits right on Prijeko street – and if you’ve wandered around the Old Town even once, you’ll know this is basically the restaurant row that runs parallel to the main Stradun. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything, but here’s the thing that surprised me: it’s actually quieter than you’d expect once you get inside.

The building itself has that typical Dubrovnik stone facade that photographs beautifully (honestly, your Instagram will thank you), but what really got me was stepping into the rooms. They’ve managed to keep some of the old-world charm – exposed stone walls, wooden beams, that sort of thing – while actually making it comfortable for modern travelers. The air conditioning works properly, which, let me tell you, is not something you can take for granted in these historic buildings during July and August. I stayed in one of the apartments, and the little kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped. Nothing fancy, but perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing those amazing Croatian wines you’ll inevitably buy at the local shops. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters if you’re trying to upload those sunset photos from the city walls.

What really makes this place special though is the location knowledge the owners have. They’ll tell you exactly when to hit the walls for the best light (early morning, trust me), which konoba on Prijeko serves the best black risotto, and – this is crucial – how to navigate the maze of streets when you’re coming back late at night. Because honestly, even with GPS, these medieval streets can be confusing after a few glasses of local wine. The 9.9 rating makes total sense when you experience their hospitality firsthand. They’re not just handing you keys; they’re genuinely excited to share their city with you. Plus, being on Prijeko means you can stumble home after dinner without dealing with the crowds on Stradun – there’s something to be said for having a quiet side street as your address while still being thirty seconds from all the action. Just keep in mind that like most places in the Old Town, you’ll be doing some walking with your luggage (cars can’t get through these streets), but the location honestly makes up for any minor inconvenience.

  One of the nicest apartments I have stayed at in the world. Tomas arranged my transport from the airport and met me at the Pile Gate. The apartment is beautifully furnished, immaculate and lots of lovely touches like chocolates, snacks, and his mother’s liquor. A beautiful oasis to escape the crowds of old town during the day. The morning and evening atmosphere around the apartment is amazing. Tomas is a wonderful host and very helpful and friendly. The location is in great spot in Old town near lots of restaurants. Highly recommend.

  Very nice appartment, great location, super helpful host. We loved our stay, despite beeing in the old town, it was quiet at night because of the double glass windows. The host was super nice and caring. He made sure everything was top notch and even helped us carrying the suitcases to the bus station. Also the appartment provides extra huge beach towels and slippers – loved that too!
  
  What could be improved: Sponge and detergent would have been nice, but that would have been the cherry on the cake. We absolutely recommend this appartment!

  Exceptional stay! Tomas went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect holiday. The apartment is absolutely luxurious—beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. It’s fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, plus so many thoughtful extras like homemade biscuits, local liquor, amazing coffee, wine, chocolate, and snacks—all complimentary, which made us feel truly pampered.
  
  The bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, and the apartment is soundproofed so well that even though you're in the heart of the old town, it’s peaceful and quiet inside—perfect for a restful night’s sleep.
  
  The location is unbeatable. It's on the best street in the old town, directly across from a fantastic Michelin-starred restaurant that’s reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Plus, the beach is just a short, scenic walk away—ideal for a quick dip or a relaxing stroll.

  We loved our stay in the room on the first floor. It’s very clean, spacious and with a small refrigerator with free wine,beer, water etc.

  The apartment's location within the old town walls was perfect. A very short walk from the main street and 2 minutes from the Irish bar! Our host Tomas even arranged for us to have a reservation at the Panorama restaurant, which has the most amazing view of the old town.
