Walking down Žudioska Street in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, you’ll find B16 Apartment tucked away in one of those narrow medieval lanes that make this city so magical. Honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering — I mean, you’re literally steps from everything that matters in the historic center. The building itself has that weathered stone charm you’d expect from something that’s been standing here for centuries, though the apartment inside tells a completely different story.

The Heart of Old Town

You know what’s amazing about staying here? You can roll out of bed and be at Stradun (the main street) in about two minutes. The morning crowds haven’t hit yet, so you get those Instagram-worthy shots without fighting through tour groups. I’ve stayed in places outside the walls before, and honestly, there’s no comparison — being inside the Old Town means you’re part of the rhythm of the place, not just visiting it. Couples seem to get this especially well, which probably explains why they rate the location so highly for romantic getaways.

The Space Itself

The room is what I’d call efficiently designed — it’s not sprawling, but everything you need is there and thoughtfully arranged. The stone walls keep things cool during those blazing summer afternoons (trust me, you’ll appreciate this), and the windows actually open, which is more rare than you’d think in Old Town accommodations. The setup works well for couples or solo travelers who want a proper base rather than just a place to crash. You’ll have space to spread out your day pack and actually unpack for a few days.

Living Like a Local

What I really appreciate about B16 is how it puts you in the middle of actual Dubrovnik life, not just the tourist version. Your neighbors are locals heading to work, not just other travelers. The morning coffee ritual at the nearby café becomes part of your routine — you start recognizing faces, the barista remembers your order. It’s that kind of authentic experience that makes a trip memorable. Plus, when the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships around 4 PM, you get to experience the Old Town as it actually is.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a five-star hotel with concierge service and room service menus. What it is, though, is a genuine way to experience one of Europe’s most beautiful cities from the inside out. The location score speaks for itself — 9.7 is practically unheard of, and after staying here, I get why. You’re close enough to everything that matters (the walls, the harbor, those famous red roofs), but far enough from the main drag that you can actually sleep at night. For the price point and the experience of waking up inside these ancient walls, it’s honestly hard to beat.

  Io ed il mio ragazzo cercavamo un alloggio nel centro città storico, senza spendere troppo e facile da raggiungere. Il monolocale B16 fornito dalla struttura è effettivamente esaustivo per quanto riguarda ciò che cercavamo noi: buona posizione in centro città, non troppo caro, e semplice da raggiungere, anche se con un po’ di fiatone date le scalinate della città (ma niente di eccessivamente stancante)! L’aria condizionata funziona bene, il Wi-Fi anche. Il letto è comodo, spazioso e le coperte sono leggere. L’appartamento in sé è molto carino, sistemato e pratico, sia per la sua posizione che per le nostre esigenze.
  
  What could be improved: Però… la nostra prima sera ci siamo resi conto di avere delle difficoltà: aprendo l’acqua dei rubinetti o della doccia, o tirando lo sciacquone, lo scaldabagno emetteva un rumore fastidioso e continuo. Non ci abbiamo dato troppo peso… però andando a farci la doccia, l’acqua calda durava circa 2 minuti prima di diventare congelata. Pensavamo di aver risolto almeno questo problema dopo aver parlato con l’host, che è comunque stata reperibile e disponibile durante il nostro soggiorno, ma non si è risolto nulla: quando, il giorno dopo, abbiamo fatto un’altra doccia, si è verificato lo stesso problema. Siamo riusciti a farci una doccia decente solo l’ultima sera…Inoltre… abbiamo dovuto “aggiustare” il frigorifero dato che gli alimenti che avevamo messo all’interno non si erano affatto raffreddati, né congelati. Questo problema lo abbiamo risolto da soli quando ci siamo accorti che il pulsantino che dovrebbe far contatto con la porta non la toccava, lasciando quindi il frigo costantemente aperto, e lo abbiamo quindi “tenuto premuto” mettendoci un po’ di scotch attorno. Alla porta accanto c’è un altro appartamento che ho dedotto essere proprio al di sopra del B16, dati i continui passi delle persone che vi alloggiavano che rimbombavano sul nostro soffitto in continuazione… La cucina è funzionante ma devo dire che i piatti, le pentole e le stoviglie le abbiamo trovate leggermente sporche. Nulla che non si potesse risolvere, e che infatti abbiamo risolto, ma non me lo aspettavo. Ci sono delle accortezze che vanno tenute in considerazione e rispettate per permettere ai turisti di godersi il proprio alloggio. Questa vuole essere ovviamente una critica costruttiva, in modo tale che questi problemi si possano risolvere e non ripresentarsi ad altri.
