Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw B17 apartments tucked away on Žudioska ulica, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you. The building itself has that weathered Dubrovnik stone look that actually feels authentic, not like some tourist trap trying too hard. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Stradun – I mean, you can hear the morning café chatter drifting over – but far enough up this quiet side street that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at midnight.
The apartments themselves are honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. Nothing fancy, but everything works, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed in Old Town. The owners clearly know their stuff because they’ve got those little touches that matter – decent water pressure (seriously, this is rare in old Dubrovnik buildings), actual blackout curtains, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. I stayed there in August, which is basically peak chaos season, and while you could definitely hear the city waking up around 7 AM, it wasn’t the kind of noise that ruins your sleep. The stone walls are thick enough to muffle most of the tourist parade below.
What really sold me on the place was the location knowledge you get just by staying there. The family running it – they’ve been in the neighborhood forever, and they’ll tell you which bakery opens earliest (hint: it’s not the one all the guidebooks mention) and how to dodge the worst of the walking tour groups. There’s this tiny passage between Žudioska and the next street over that cuts your walking time to the port in half, but honestly, most visitors never find it. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you factor in that kind of local insight. Sure, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge in a fancy uniform, but you’re getting something better – you’re staying where someone actually lives and works in this city, not in some sterile hotel bubble. Plus, and this is key if you’re driving, they can actually help you navigate the parking situation, which in Dubrovnik is basically like solving a puzzle while blindfolded.

What could be improved: The step climbing and movement of baggage up and down the steps but being near the gate was a great helpExceptional – Frances from Ireland – 16 October 2024 (10/10)
Great location. Very comfortable bed. Great communication with owner, super easy self check in and check out with great directions to get to apartment. Only a few steps from Buza gate so perfect for luggage. Lovely restaurants just around the corner.
What could be improved: Not a problem for us but there are many steps from apartment to main area but you there is steps everywhere in the city. Worth it though.Exceptional – Rachel from Ireland – 30 September 2024 (10/10)

Excellent location near Buza Gate meaning it wasn’t too horrendous getting our bags there.,
Josip, the property manager, is super helpful if you need any assistance.
What could be improved: It’s a very small apartment & the corners of the bed are sharp. Be very careful at night!Great central location, minutes walk from the centre of the town – Shelagh from United Kingdom – 22 June 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location, good facilities
What could be improved: NothingGreat value for money, amazing location! – Maartje from Netherlands – 1 May 2024 (10/10)
Couldn't ask for a better location. The host was very responsive and helped us out immediately when we had a question. He arranged transport from and to the airport which was very convenient. Studio is small sized but there's everything you need. Bathroom smelled a bit damp but that's because not everyone uses the ventilation I guess. Would definitely recommend; good value for money!
What could be improved: –Superb – Anika from Netherlands – 22 February 2024 (9/10)
The appartment is on a perfect location, in the middle of the old town. The host Josip was super helpful with everything! Would definitely recommend.
What could be improved: –Good value for money – Andrea from Mexico – 9 October 2023 (10/10)
Location is perfect
And the room has everything you needPerfect short get-away location – Kristina from Lithuania – 20 September 2023 (9/10)
Perfect location, friendly host, clean apartment
What could be improved: It needs a place where people could dry towels, as in Dubrovnik humidity is huge and it is always dry.
