Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The name is a bit of a mouthful – Batala1-City marina apartment – but honestly, it tells you everything you need to know. It’s right on Ulica od Batale in Lapad, which is this lovely residential peninsula that locals actually live in, not just another tourist trap. And that secured private parking they mention? In Dubrovnik, that’s basically like finding gold. I mean, anyone who’s driven around the old city knows what a nightmare parking can be, especially during summer when the cruise ships dump thousands of people into those narrow streets.
The apartment itself sits on the first floor of what feels like a proper neighborhood building – you can hear kids playing in the courtyard sometimes, which I actually found charming rather than annoying. It’s got that authentic Croatian apartment vibe without being stuffy or overly modernized. The 9.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there; it’s one of those places where everything just works. The WiFi actually works (not a given in some Dubrovnik apartments), the kitchen has real cookware if you want to hit the local markets, and the beds are comfortable enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a medieval torture device. What really sells it though is the location – Lapad is where you want to be if you’re planning to stay more than a couple days. Sure, you’re about a 15-minute bus ride from the old town walls and all that Game of Thrones stuff, but you’re also walking distance to some genuinely good restaurants that don’t charge tourist prices. There’s this little bakery about three blocks away that locals queue up at in the morning, and the Lapad Bay beach is close enough that you can actually hear the waves if you open the windows at night.
The whole marina aspect isn’t just marketing fluff either – you can literally walk down to the water and watch the boats come and go, which is surprisingly relaxing after a day of climbing ancient city walls. And honestly, after spending time in the crowds of the old town, coming back to this quieter part of Dubrovnik feels like a proper retreat. The check-in was straightforward (no hunting around for keys hidden in random flower pots), and the owner seemed to actually care about the place rather than just collecting rental fees. It’s the kind of spot where you could easily spend a week without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase in some generic hotel room. Plus, if you’re the type who likes to explore beyond the obvious tourist spots, Lapad gives you a real taste of how people actually live in this part of Croatia.

Perfect stay in Dubrovnik – Kristi from Albania – 30 December 2024 (10/10)
Everything was just perfect , location , very welcome host, The apartment was clean tidy and spacious.
Comfortable, fun, great location with super easy access to Old Town. 10/10 recommend. – Amanda from Canada – 13 September 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was well laid out, and a super fun decor that is perfect for a beach style holiday. The bed were firm but still very comfortable and we appreciated all the bedding option and the amount of pillows. The hanging chair on the balcony was a huge hit with my kids. There was also lots of beach toys/flippers and even an umbrella to use. While we did not have a in person greeting on our arrival, Paulina was very attentive via the app for communication. We also loved the location and that there was parking (secured and not on the street!). We were a little concerned about being outside of the old town but the bus was super convenient to get down there so it was actually better than being in the old town. Paulina sent a couple restaurants recommendations, we went to 2 of them during our stay and both were great. Especially Mango down by the Lapad beach. Very good food and great service. We will definitely try and book again on the next visit and will recommend to friends.
What could be improved: Only thing my husband complained about was the lack of TV channels. 🙂 Otherwise there was nothing.A great stay! – Anna from United Kingdom – 26 August 2024 (10/10)

Excellent stay close to Dubrovnik Old Town – Shivaun from United Kingdom – 3 August 2024 (10/10)
Comfortable apartment in an excellent location a short bus ride or walk from Dubrovnik Old Town. Spotlessly clean. Host Paulina very friendly and welcoming, despite our late arrival. She provided towels and equipment for our children to use at the nearby beach, as well as lots of useful information and recommendations. All in all a fantastic stay – just too short!

I recently stayed at an apartment managed by Pulina in Dubrovnik and it was an outstanding experience. The apartment was not only well-maintained but also beautifully furnished, providing a comfortable and luxurious stay. Its proximity to the city center and public transport made exploring Dubrovnik a breeze. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a convenient and delightful stay in this charming city.
