This place sits right on Ulica kneza Hrvaša, which is basically one of those narrow limestone streets that makes Old Town Dubrovnik feel like you’re living inside a medieval postcard. Step outside and you’re already in the thick of it – no trudging uphill with your luggage or trying to navigate those maze-like alleyways to find civilization.
The apartment itself is spread across two levels, hence the duplex thing, and it’s got that slightly worn-in charm that comes with older buildings in the old city. The stone walls keep things surprisingly cool during those brutal summer afternoons when the tour groups are melting on the Stradun. I actually appreciated that it felt lived-in rather than sterile – there’s character in the uneven floors and the way the wooden stairs creak just a little. The 7.3 rating makes sense; it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and comfortable with everything you need. The kitchen’s small but functional, which matters if you’re planning to grab fresh produce from the morning market at Gundulić Square (just a two-minute walk, by the way).
What really sold me was stepping out in the early morning before the cruise ship crowds arrived. You can hear the church bells from multiple directions, and there’s this amazing coffee smell drifting from the little café that locals actually use – not the tourist traps. The building’s thick walls mean you won’t hear much street noise at night, which is clutch because this area can get pretty lively during peak season. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town, so forget about parking nearby. But honestly, once you’re settled in here, you won’t want to leave anyway. The city walls are literally a five-minute stroll, and you can walk to Fort Lovrijenac in about ten minutes if you take the path along the western edge. I found myself just wandering out for groceries or a quick drink and ending up exploring for hours because everything’s so accessible. Just pack light – those stone steps everywhere aren’t luggage-friendly, and neither are the cobblestones.
