You know what struck me first about BIS Studio Apartment 3? It’s one of those places that actually feels like someone’s home rather than another sterile hotel room. I mean, when you’re walking up Ulica bana Josipa Jelačića – and honestly, don’t worry about pronouncing that street name correctly, even locals will appreciate the effort – you’re already in the heart of Lapad, which is sort of this perfect sweet spot between tourist central and actual neighborhood life.

The apartment itself is pretty clever with its space. It’s got that European efficiency thing going on where everything has a purpose, but it doesn’t feel cramped. The kitchen area is actually usable (I made coffee there every morning without bumping into furniture), and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Croatian springs all night. What I really appreciated was the little balcony – nothing fancy, but perfect for that morning coffee or evening glass of wine while watching the neighborhood come alive. The Wi-Fi works reliably too, which honestly saved my trip since I needed to sort out some work stuff.

Location-wise, this place is kind of genius. Lapad isn’t where all the cruise ship crowds congregate, so you get to experience Dubrovnik without feeling like you’re constantly swimming upstream through tour groups. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks down where locals actually go for their morning pastries – the kind of spot where pointing at what looks good works perfectly fine. The beach is maybe a 10-minute walk, and it’s one of those pebbly Croatian beaches that’s surprisingly comfortable once you get used to it. But here’s the thing – when you do want to hit the Old Town (and you definitely should), the bus connection is straightforward, or it’s about a 20-minute walk along the coast if you’re feeling energetic. I actually preferred walking back in the evenings because the seaside path is pretty magical once the day crowds thin out.

The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which works really well if you’re planning to spend your days exploring rather than lounging around your room. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward lobby waiting around – and the building itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with the windows open to catch that sea breeze. Parking can be a bit tricky in the area (it’s Croatia in summer, after all), but there are spots if you’re patient, and honestly, you might find you don’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails everything that actually matters when you’re exploring a place like Dubrovnik.

  It was a great affordable place to stay. Simple clean and comfortable. It was everything that we needed as a base for our sightseeing trip.

  What could be improved: The location is out of the main areas to visit but close to a bus route. We would recommend getting a 72 hour Dubrovnik pass that includes unlimited bus trips too. You can get to all areas of Dubrovnik with ease so the location is not a problem.

  Decent location, friendly host. Washing machine is a big plus, but it would be even better if there was 1-2 washing capsules – it's not like it's very high cost, and it would help backpackers make a wash while traveling.

  Apartamentul este la 10-15 minute de Dubrovnik Old Town. Este intr-o zona linistita, foarte aproape de portul din Dubrovnik. Am lasat masina in una din parcarile mari din port, la 5 minute de apartament.
  Apartamentul este spatios si are tot ce e nevoie pentru un sejur de mai multe zile.

  Lokalita bola super, 3 minúty peši na zastávku, autobusy chodia každú chvíľu. Centrum je vzdialené chôdzou asi 15 minut. Pláž Bellevue je taktiež pomerne blízko, na ulici, kde sa nachádza ubytovanie sú bary a reštaurácie, čo je veľké plus. Izba bola čistá, privítal nás mladý pán, ktorý nám všetko ukázal. S odvozom na letisko/Z letiska neváhajte kontaktovať majiteľa, veľmi nám pomohol pri zabezpečení šoféra.
  
  What could be improved: Izba má málo odkladacieho priestoru a kúpeľňa trošku staršia, avšak, dojmy z pobytu to nepokazilo.

  Cerca del centro histórico, a 4 min en autobús desde una parada al final de la calle, 5 min en coche. Caminando a 15 min
  Limpio, tranquilo para descansar y con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable con terraza.
