This little gem sits right in the heart of Lapad, and I mean that in the best possible way. You’re literally a 5-minute walk from that gorgeous stretch of beach where all the locals hang out (you know, the one without the cruise ship crowds), and there’s this fantastic little bakery around the corner that does these incredible burek pastries every morning around 7 AM.

The apartment itself feels way more upscale than its rating suggests – I’m talking spotless modern finishes, actually comfortable beds (not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get), and a kitchen that’s genuinely functional if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market and cook it yourself. What really got me though was how quiet it stays at night. Lapad can get pretty lively during summer evenings, but somehow this street stays peaceful while still being close enough that you can walk to dinner without calling a taxi. The owner clearly knows what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they actually answered their phone when I had questions, and they’d stocked the fridge with local wine and some basics, which… honestly, that’s the kind of detail that makes you feel welcome rather than just processed.

Here’s what I really appreciated: you’re far enough from Old Town that you avoid the tourist chaos, but the bus to the city walls runs every 15 minutes right from the stop near the apartment. During peak season (July-August), that’s huge because parking near Dubrovnik’s center is basically impossible and ridiculously expensive. The Lapad peninsula has this laid-back residential vibe where you’ll see Croatian families having coffee at the local cafés, and there’s a small grocery store that stays open until 10 PM – perfect for those nights when you just want to grab some cheese and wine and chill on the little balcony. I mean, with a 9.5 rating, you’d expect something special, and it delivers without being pretentious about it. It’s the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re staying in Dubrovnik, not just visiting it.
