Hotel Description
You know what really caught me off guard about Close&Cosy? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – and I mean that in the best way possible. I’ve stayed at plenty of places where the name feels like some marketing team’s fever dream, but this little gem on Cavtatska ulica genuinely feels like someone’s well-appointed home that they’ve opened up to travelers.
The location is honestly brilliant if you know Dubrovnik at all. You’re in Ploce, which means you’re close enough to walk to the Old Town (maybe 15-20 minutes on foot), but you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of staying right inside the walls. I actually prefer this – you get to experience a bit of how locals live, there’s a decent bakery just down the street, and honestly, the evening walk back after dinner gives you time to decompress from tourist mode. The address might not mean much if you’re planning from abroad, but trust me, this is one of those neighborhoods where you’ll see kids playing football in small courtyards and old Croatian men playing chess at café tables.
What really sold me on the place was how thoughtfully everything’s been put together. The rooms have this cozy, almost Nordic feel – clean lines but warm touches, good lighting (seriously, why do so many hotels get this wrong?), and the kind of bedding that makes you want to sleep in. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but everything works perfectly and feels intentional. I mean, the shower pressure alone probably bumps it up half a star in my book. The staff genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing too, which you can tell within about five minutes of checking in. There’s this quiet efficiency about the place – no fuss, but they’ve clearly thought through what travelers actually need.
The 9.4 rating doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s the kind of score you get when you consistently nail the fundamentals without any major missteps. The building itself has character without being quirky for the sake of it, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to oversell itself. You’re not going to find some massive pool or spa facilities, but honestly, you came to Dubrovnik to explore one of the world’s most beautiful cities, not to hang out at your hotel all day. This place gets that – it’s your comfortable, reliable base while you’re out discovering hidden beaches, climbing those ancient walls, or getting lost in the maze of limestone streets. After a long day of tourist activities, walking back to Close&Cosy feels like coming home, which is exactly what you want from a place like this.

Perfect apartment for our group of 3! Location and amenities are excellent. It is right outside the city walls and close to the beach. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic location, so close to the Old Town. Tastefully decorated with more or less everything you could need. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. The apartment owner was incredibly helpful.

Miho was a wonderful host and explained everything in the apartment and Dubrovnik fully. The apartment was perfectly laid out with all anyone could need for a comfortable stay. The washing machine and convenient clothes line was an added bonus. Having two bathrooms for us as a couple was a treat and gave us more time to explore Dubrovnik. The apartment is very secure and well located close to the entrance of the old town and an easy walk to the beach.
What could be improved: It was difficult to access the property with heavy suitcases. Our host was amazing and helped us in. He also arranged help when we were leaving.Karen from United Kingdom – 4 August 2024 (9/10)
Wonderful apartment, beautifully furnished, a few minutes walk from the walls and centre of town, and local shops, beach, restaurants.
2 equal sized bedrooms and bathrooms so plenty of space for 4
The host was really helpful prior to arrival, answering questions and very responsive regarding check in arrangements
We enjoyed eating out, especially the local pizzeria next door, and port 22 restaurant (great views and lovely sunset, and great food!)

Loved everything about this apartment. It was the perfect place to stay for two couples just outside the Ploce gates and directly under the cable car entrance. Pick ups for tours outside of Dubrovnik were easily arranged for pick up from the Cable Car bus stop. The walk into the Old Town was very easy.

Our host met us at the apartment to give us the keys, show us around and provide our family with additional information about the area. The apartment was in an amazing location! Right below the tram up to Mt. Srd, just a couple of minutes walk to the entrance to Old Town, and a fabulous pizza place right on the doorstep! One could not ask for a better, quiet location. Everything was at our fingertips, but without all of the noise of Old Town. The location was safe enough where I ventured out after dark, by myself while the family slept, to explore and buy groceries. I had no concerns about my personal well-being. The apartment was modern, super clean and had many extras (toothbrush kits, shaving kits, laundry detergent, slippers, etc.). The beds were a bit on the firmer end of things. My husband and son loved them, but my daughter and I prefer a bit softer. After traveling for a month in Croatia, my son stated that he would like to live in this apartment. It was such a lovely stay.
What could be improved: The one item that could be better is the parking situation. The listing states that there is parking nearby and there is. When I looked into pricing in January, it stated that it was 7 Euro per day. In June it bumped to over 120 Euro! We made some friends very quickly and they shared their home parking with us for the last day of our stay. On a side note: Dubrovnik is in the process of building a multi-story car park, so that should help with parking and pricing in the future.Elaine from United Kingdom – 10 June 2023 (10/10)

Location, a great apartment 2 bedroom 2 bathroom modern finishes comfy couch washing machine and dish washer . It was clean and comfortable . Had everything we needed except a toaster. Miho was super helpful with suggestions and responded to our requests straight away . WiFi super efficient . the airflow through the apartment was great with the shutters for privacy but still a breeze .The Air-conditioners were great .
What could be improved: Really was a lovely stay so would have to nitpick but maybe a toaster instead of 2 coffee machines . The towels were not absorbent and could be bigger !Xueyan from Spain – 6 January 2023 (10/10)
