The studio concept really works here, giving you that independent apartment feel while still having the backing of proper hotel services. You know what struck me most? How the place manages to feel both contemporary and respectful of its Croatian surroundings.
Here’s the thing about staying in Lapad — you’re getting the best of both worlds without the Old Town crowds crushing you every morning. The 20-minute walk to Dubrovnik’s historic center is actually perfect; it’s long enough to feel like a pleasant stroll (especially in the evening when the light hits just right), but short enough that you won’t think twice about heading back for a midday break. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, I get why. The neighborhood has this lived-in Croatian feel with local cafes and shops, plus you’re close to some lovely beaches that most tourists miss entirely.
The rooms at DiDu Studio are thoughtfully designed — not just thrown together with generic furniture like so many places. You’ll find clean lines, smart storage solutions, and actually useful amenities that make sense for how people really travel today. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s properly equipped if you want to grab some fresh produce from the local market and make a simple meal. What I particularly appreciated was how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped — there’s room to actually unpack and settle in, which makes all the difference on longer stays.
The staff here genuinely knows Dubrovnik, not just the tourist highlights everyone pushes. They’ll point you toward that little bakery around the corner where locals actually go, or suggest the best time to walk the city walls when it’s less insane. Plus, being in Lapad means you’re experiencing a slice of how Croatians actually live, rather than just existing in the tourist bubble — though you can easily pop into that bubble whenever you want.

Lots of lovely touches in the apartment, comfortable bed, air conditioning and good shower. Location great for exploring old town and other areas of Dubrovnik. Dijana was very quick to respond and help when we had a small problem. Close to bakery, supermarket and bus stop to Old Town. Apartment was clean and secure. Instructions were clear. We really enjoyed our stay.
The property was perfect for 4 days. The place has everything that you need, even beach umbrella and towels for going to the beach.
What could be improved: Was everything perfect. The only detail is that it's not a 20 min walk, it's actually 30. However, there’s a bus right next to it that runs every 5 minutes and takes you to the old town, so it wasn't a big inconvenience.
Fantastic facilities & extremely clean. The host has applied so much attention to detail (Water in fridge, washing machine tablets, iron & board, WiFi, Smart TV to name a few…).
Honestly couldn’t have chosen better accommodation within Dubrovnik.
Accommodation is located within close proximity to some great restaurants (Peppers being one). In addition, a short walk from Lapad which had an excellent beach & selection of bars & restaurants. Old town Dubrovnik is approximately a 20 minute walk away which we did several times.
Would highly recommend.
I liked that the property was clean had air conditioning washing machine dishwasher and even tablets for them plus pots pans cups dishes tea coffee there was even a parasol and umbrella and even if you wanted to press your clothes there was an iron in fact they have thought of everything as far as I’m concerned which is why I gave this property owner full marks
What could be improved: Only that there was no balcony
An absolutely perfect stay. I can not fault this wonderful apartment. Beautifully decorated, extremely clean, very near old town (as advertised- 20 min walk; or the bus comes frequently and takes 5 minutes); the host was absolutely amazing (so kind, always responding, thinks of the small details to make one’s stay perfect, and very helpful). Thank you so much, one of our best stays ever. We will be back.

Everything in the apartment showed a lot of effort had been put into ensuring it feels like home away from home, every single detail was thought of, there was nothing that we felt was missing during our stay, and the location was fantastic.
The host allowed us to check in early, was very accommodating and easy to contact. Check in was easy , you were given the code to a key safe outside the apartment. The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was modern and tastefully furnished with everything you would ever need including body wash, shampoo, cooking oil, salt and pepper, coffee pods and ground coffee as there were 2 coffee machines, teas, sugar, spices and a bottle of cherry brandy which showed that Dijana went out of her way to make our stay special.
The location was perfect right on Gruz Harbour where the ferries come in from Split, Hvar and Korcula and the sight seeing boats leave from.
The bus station is also there where you can catch the local and airport shuttle buses. We had a bus stop 200 metres from our apartment where they also stop and you can catch the numbers 6, 9, 2 and 1 buses which will get you to the Old Town in 15-20 minutes.
We were glad we chose Lapad to stay in rather than the Old Town as the accommodation, restaurants and cafes were much cheaper and you could do a promenade walk from the harbour around the water passing lots of nice ( pebble) beaches and little areas with metal ladders where you can access the water. A must see is the Cave Bar between Copacabana and Lapad (Sunset) Beach which is an actual cave with about 5 floors and is part of The More Hotel.
The bed and pillows were comfy, the shower was great, the air-conditioning worked well and we even had robes supplied. I would highly recommend this property. Thanks Dijana.
What could be improved: The TV kept losing signal and pixilating and we couldn't find a way to change the language to English but no drama.
Conveniently located near ferries and bus station. The crowds are far smaller here too.
What could be improved: It's a decent walk to the Old Town. An Uber ride fixed that for 7.5 euros.
Location was brilliant. Very near shops convient for getting buses. Fab fresh bread bakery next door. Very clean.host totally focused on the guest and possible needs. .
What could be improved: The apartment was on the third floor. The lift to the apartment was on the ground floor inside at the end of a row of business/ shops. It was dark. Instructions for lighting would be helpful. Limited windows / views.
Ideal location if you would rather be away from the old town. The location is great, with loads of shops and lovely restaurants. I would highly recommend Taverna Loggia, which is only 1 minute from the apartment. There’s everything you could possibly need as well, we even had sun cream and make up remover in the bathroom cabinet.
Can’t recommend this apartment enough.
