You know what? I was honestly skeptical when I first saw “DuArt Cozy Apartment” listed as a 4-star place – I mean, apartments can be hit or miss, right? But walking up to Liechtensteinov put 22/C in Lapad, I actually got excited. The building has this understated elegance that immediately tells you someone cares about the details here.

The location is brilliant in that sneaky way locals love – you’re in Lapad, which means you’re away from the Old Town tourist chaos but still close enough to walk there in about 15 minutes along the coastal path. That walk, by the way, is gorgeous and way better than fighting for space on the crowded buses during peak season. The apartment itself feels like staying at a design-conscious friend’s place who happens to have incredible taste. Everything’s been thought through – the lighting actually works for reading (shocking, I know), the kitchen has proper coffee equipment, and the bathroom products don’t smell like industrial cleaner. I kept finding these little touches that made me think “oh, they get it” – like decent hangers in the closet and blackout curtains that actually block light.

What really sold me was the neighborhood vibe. Lapad’s got this residential feel where you’ll hear Croatian conversations drifting from balconies in the evening, but it’s never rowdy. There’s a small market just down the street where locals shop, and honestly, grabbing fresh bread there in the morning became my favorite ritual. The 9.8 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a flashy hotel with marble everything, but it nails what travelers actually want: a beautiful, comfortable space that feels authentic to the place you’re visiting. The only tiny complaint I’d have is that the WiFi gets a bit temperamental during afternoon hours when everyone’s uploading their sunset photos, but that’s pretty much universal in Dubrovnik. If you’re the type who prefers experiencing a city like a temporary resident rather than a tourist passing through, this place absolutely delivers.
