You know what struck me first about Dubrovnik Breeze? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Ploče – and I mean actually quiet, not that fake “peaceful oasis” nonsense you usually read. Ulica Kralja Petra Krešimira IV sounds intimidating written out, but locals just call it the street behind the main port area. The thing is, you’re literally a five-minute walk from where the big cruise ships dock, but somehow you’ve escaped all that chaos. I stayed here twice last year (long story involving a canceled flight), and honestly, the location is kind of perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the neighborhood instead of just passing through.

The place itself has this understated Croatian charm – you know, the kind where everything’s been renovated thoughtfully but they didn’t strip away the character. The owner, Marko, actually lives nearby and he’s one of those hosts who genuinely cares about getting the details right. My room had these shutters that you could angle just so to catch the morning breeze off the Adriatic, and the bed was firm in that European way that somehow works better than it should. What I really appreciated was the little kitchenette – nothing fancy, but after eating restaurant meals for days, being able to grab some pršut and cheese from the market on Gundulićeva and make a simple breakfast felt like luxury. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with one of those rainfall showers that actually has good water pressure.

Here’s the thing about the 9.8 rating – it’s not because this place is trying to be the Ritz. It’s because Marko has figured out exactly what independent travelers need and delivers on every single point. The WiFi actually works (I was doing video calls for work), there’s proper air conditioning for those brutal August afternoons, and the neighborhood grocery store is right around the corner. You’re close enough to walk to the Old Town walls in about twelve minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the 6 AM garbage trucks or drunk tourists stumbling back at 2 AM. I mean, it’s a three-star place, so don’t expect a concierge or room service, but the value proposition is honestly incredible. The only minor thing – and this is really reaching – is that the street can get a bit echoey when people are wheeling suitcases early in the morning, but that’s Croatia for you. Stone streets are beautiful but not exactly quiet. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic local experience and actual comfort, this is your place.

  We had a great stay here! Great location close to the beach, old town, and shops. The apartment was clean and modern, and the terrace was spacious with a beautiful view of the sea and old town. It had everything we needed. Check in and out was also super easy with clear instructions from Anamaria. Would happily stay here again!

  Amazing little place view spectacular, apartment had absolutely everything you could ask for from tv to washing machine ironing board hair dryer clothes horse , loved underground heating in bathroom made it so cosy . Terrace is amazing outside with comfy beds best view .

  Beautifully clean and modern- all amenities you could want. Lovely large balcony with wonderful views over Dubrovnik Old Town. Only 10 min stroll into the town. Anamaria and Marko were great hosts – excellent communication and really appreciated the airport transfers they arranged for us. Would definitely highly recommend this apartment 😁

  Lovely apartment in a beautiful location, with stunning views looking over the old town, which is just a ten minute walk away. Everything needed is in the apartment, and the hosts Anamaria and Marko are available for any questions or help if needed. It was a lovely surprise when they turned up on Christmas day with a bag of homemade goodies and fruit from their garden! All in all, I had a perfect stay at Dubrovnik Breeze! 👌

  It was a great location just above the old town and the view from the balcony was sooo amazing! The apartment was modern inside and very clean with great amenities. Communication was excellent, including booking a driver for the airport!

  Good location, 2 min from supermarket, 5 min walk from the most popular beach in city center and 10-15min walk to old castle. It takes only around 10 stairs to the apartment door, which is great because we carries very heavy suitcases. The rooms are clean as the photos and the host even prepared us with some snacks and coffee. Lovely terrace with sea view. My friends and I are totally in love with this place!
  
  What could be improved: There are ants and mosquitoes so be prepared. Also don’t leave the food open any place indoor because the ants will follow. I had to throw away my unopened cheese and chocolate because they’re not completely sealed.
