Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to L’Orangerie on Masarykov put, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked away in this quiet residential stretch of Lapad, maybe a 15-minute walk from the main Lapad Bay beach area, and the building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “luxury hotel.” But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it special. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of calm – probably because you’re not fighting crowds of tourists like you would be staying near Stradun in the Old Town. The lobby has these beautiful citrus-themed touches (hence the orangerie name, I’m guessing) and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which honestly doesn’t happen at most places anymore.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail that you only notice after staying a few days. The rooms are spacious by European standards – I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too, which matters because Croatian hotels can be hit or miss with thin walls. From my balcony, I had this lovely view of the surrounding residential area with glimpses of the Adriatic, and in the early morning you can hear the bells from the nearby church – it’s actually quite peaceful, not annoying like you’d think. The location in Lapad is perfect if you want to experience Dubrovnik without the absolute chaos of staying within the city walls. You’re close enough to catch bus line 6 straight to Pile Gate (takes about 20 minutes), but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM.

The real gem here is how they’ve managed to create this boutique hotel feel while still being a 4-star property. The breakfast spread is solid – proper Croatian cheese and prosciutto, fresh fruit, and decent coffee (not that instant stuff some places try to pass off). There’s this small garden area where you can sit in the afternoon, and the hotel’s restaurant serves some genuinely good local dishes – I had the best black risotto of my trip there, actually. Parking is included, which is a godsend because finding a spot in Dubrovnik can be a nightmare and cost you a fortune. The staff gave me great recommendations for quieter beaches like Copacabana and Uvala, places that aren’t overrun with day-trippers from cruise ships. With a 9.1 rating, you’d expect it to be pricey, but it’s actually reasonable for what you get, especially considering how expensive Dubrovnik has become. If you want that perfect balance of accessibility to the main sights but also a peaceful retreat to come back to, this place nails it.

  Lovely and so spacious with TWO balconies and a short ride on a cheap, regular bus to get to the old town. Easy beach access and to the beautiful turquoise sea, plenty of restaurants nearby. The whole group was delighted with the accommodation.
  
  What could be improved: Difficult to find anything to complain about, though a few ants did appear if we left sweet items out for too long. Not a major issue, just have to try to be relatively clean.

  These apartments are second to none, everything appeared new and plush with regular housekeeping and a simple message to reception they’d arrange whatever we needed. The apartments were huge and had absolutely everything we needed.
  The onsite reception team are excellent.
  The restaurant on site is set with spectacular views of the bay and the restaurant team and food are fabulous!
  Supermarket on site excellent.
  Bus stop right outside.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing was that we did not get the apartment we booked, we’d booked a garden view but we were told we couldn’t have it till Friday. A little disappointing as the one we’d booked had clear verandas to look out..

  Outside of the city but easily accessible with a short ride on bus 4. Reception is hard to find but very friendly staff and everything we needed for our short stay. Lots of cafes in the area for breakfast or to wind down in the evening.

  Perfect residence I've ever experienced. Everything was good.Very spacious room which was fully equipped .In addition,at the ground floor in front of lift,there is a market.We went to old city by the bus which stops in front of apartment.100% satisfied.

  Spacious, brand-new apartment equipped with everything we needed for a great stay: comfortable beds, a spacious bathroom, and a living room. It's within easy walking distance to the beach, promenade near the sea, restaurants, and a supermarket. The nice layout features a comfortable living room ideal for families (we were 4), a lovely balcony, and a table for sitting outside, offering a partial view of the sea. The area of Lapad is beautiful and only a 10-minute taxi or Uber ride to the old town. We appreciated that the apartments provided housekeeping service while we were staying, ensuring clean towels and taking out the rubbish bin. Finally, excellent wifi and Netflix are available!
  
  What could be improved: Our apartment faced the main road and was on the first floor, which meant it was very noisy with all the vehicles passing by during the day and night. The sliding doors helped when closed, but it meant that we couldn't get any fresh air!
